MAY 2006 3 LETTER PRESIDENT’S Dear Colleagues: The Arkansas Municipal League’s 72nd Annual Convention, June 14-16, is rapidly approaching, and it will be a great event. League Assistant Director Ken Wasson and the League staff have an outstanding program in place, and you certainly do not want to miss this convention. It will begin with registration and the Interim Joint City County and Local Affairs Committee meeting at 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 14, at the Hot Springs Convention Center, connected to the Embassy Suites Hotel. All advisory councils met April 5-7 at the League headquarters. Proposed resolutions and policies and goals amendments for the 72nd Convention program were discussed and approved. The membership will be voting on these at the annual business meeting at 10:15 a.m. on Friday, June 16. Another highlight of the Convention will be the exhibitors. Don’t forget to visit the Exhibit Hall for refreshments and a look at the products and programs that could benefit your municipality. Remember to register for this exciting event.
