BMS/SFB Summer School 2017 How to Get to the Hotel: from Airport

BMS/SFB Summer School 2017 Discrete Models in Geometry and Mathematical Physics 11 - 21 September 2017 How to get to the Hotel: Hotel Kaiser, Kaiserdamm 6, 14057 Berlin Tel.: +49 (0)30 364-10-80, [email protected] From Airport Berlin Tegel TXL: (Journey time approx. 35 minutes) We recommend using public transport as taxis are quite expensive in Berlin. For travelling from TXL (Tegel airport) to the hotel (and within Berlin, e.g. between hotel and university) you will need a ticket for zone AB. You can purchase a 7 day travel ticket for zone AB (in German: 7-Tage-Karte VBB-Umweltkarte, Bereich Berlin AB) for EUR 30 from the service point next to the airport information desk. Please take one of the Express Buses X9 from right outside the terminal building (direction: Zoologischer Garten) which leave every 10 minutes. Get out after about 15 minutes at the stop Ernst-Reuter-Platz. Go down into the underground station entrance (see plan). Take the underground U2 in the direction of Ruhleben or Theodor-Heuss-Platz. Get out at the 3rd stop at Sophie-Charlotte-Platz . From here you have to walk roughly 130m along the Kaiserdamm to reach the hotel (see map below). From Airport Berlin Schönefeld SXF: (Journey time approx. 1 hour) We recommend using public transport as taxis are quite expensive in Berlin. For travelling in Berlin you can purchase a 7 day travel ticket for zone AB (7-Tage-Karte VBB-Umweltkarte, Bereich Berlin AB) for EUR 30,00 from the “Reisemarkt” located in Terminals A and D but you also need an additional Zone C-ticket for the trip from the airport and to the airport as SXF (Schoenefeld airport) is located further out in Zone C, whereas the hotel and the university are in Zone A. The Airport Express Trains RB 14 or RE 7 leave daily between 04:44 and 22:44 from Berlin Schönefeld Airport Station. Please see the link on our website to a pdf with all of the details. The RE 7 in the direction of Dessau leaves at 44 minutes past the hour and the RB 14 in the direction of Nauen leaves at 3 minutes past the hour. Take either train and get out at the stop Zoologischer Garten (the journey takes about 40 minutes). At Zoologischer Garten follow the signs to get you to the underground line U2 (direction: Ruhleben or Theodor- Heuss-Platz). Travel 4 stops to Sophie-Charlotte-Platz. From here you have to walk roughly 130m along the Kaiserdamm to reach the hotel (see map). How to get to the Summer School TU Berlin, Institute of Mathematics, Straße des 17. Juni 136, 10623 Berlin The Summer School will take place in the Maths Institute of the TU Berlin. To get there from your hotel please take the underground train U2 from the station Sophie-Charlotte-Platz (direction: Pankow) to Ernst-Reuter-Platz. Still in the underground station please go downstairs and change to the opposite platform. From there take the exit „Technische Universität / Campus Charlottenburg“, which is to the left of the small bakery kiosk. When you come out of the station walk straight ahead down the Straße des 17.
