This unique adjustable, high pressure vehicle wash has a lot to offer practically any type operation. Listed below is a brief description of its features and benefits. Computer Versatility With Reliable Equipment The Model 8550 Typhoon is completely computer controlled. We use the Allen-Bradley Micrologix 1500 family of programmable controllers for two reasons...they are extremely reliable, and Allen-Bradley is available almost anywhere in the world. All electrical components are UL approved and meet European Union Harmonized Standards for Safety & EMC (89/336/EEC) (98/37/EC). The operational program for the Model 8550 Typhoon is written by Oasis. The versatility of this program is endless. The Typhoon has four (4) wash vends which can include High & Low pH Presoak, Tire Cleaner, Rocker Panel Spray, Undercarriage Spray, High Pressure Wash, Rinse, Wax, Oasis Triple Foam Shine and Spot Free Rinse. The Typhoon can also operate doors, dryers, and just about any option you can think of. Built-in safety features protect you and your customers. From the very moment money has been inserted and the wash selected, the Typhoon begins to protect itself and the customer. The unit knows when the vehicle is in the proper position to begin the wash cycle. After the optics tell the computer the vehicle location in the bay, the system knows what action to take should the customer decide to leave the bay before the wash is finished. In any fault condition the Model 8550 Typhoon knows how to react and will either finish the wash cycle or return to the home position and be ready for the next customer. Optics’ Operations The Typhoon measures the length of the vehicle by an electro-optic transmitter and receiver. These are supplied with a heater and thermostat totally enclosed. This ensures the eyes stay at their optimum operating temperature even in the coldest climate, and prevents ice and fog from affecting their operation. The eyes are active on the first, low pressure pass down the length of the vehicle. After the computer has measured the vehicle, it will plot the vehicle in its memory and will operate from these coordinates. The eyes are used again to see the vehicle out of the bay. Once the optics have measured the length and width, the wands adjust to the proper distance from the rear and passenger side of the vehicle to ensure the best possible wash. Zero Degree Nozzles Overhead, the Typhoon has zero degree, oscillating nozzles. This is a nozzle that rotates within itself at a 15 to 20 degree pattern with a zero degree spray stream. This tremendously increases the cleaning on the hoods, trunks and windshields, but does not require costly rotating unions. Features and Benefits Hydraulically Powered, Precision Gear Drive All Oasis units are hydraulically powered. This allows smooth continuous operation without the use of electric motors in the wash bay. Multiple speed on the hydraulics are standard and allow the operator to select the speed for each pass. The Model 8550 Typhoon has urethane molded gears that run along an aluminum track. All parts on the drive system are manufactured and fitted by Oasis. Mating parts that fit well have a much greater life span. The gear drive system makes any movement of the bay equipment precise and without any chance for error. Basic Construction The Typhoon, as are all Oasis units, is manufactured of aluminum and stainless steel. The rails that carry the bridge assembly are aluminum extrusions from a special dye built by Oasis. These rails are ported top and bottom during the extrusion process to allow circulation of anti-freeze through the rail itself. Rail Heat Anti-Freeze System As mentioned in the paragraph above, the Typhoon has a thermostatically controlled anti- freeze circulation system to allow the unit to operate at any temperature. All hoses, cables, and a heat circulation line are enclosed from the equipment room to the wash bay. This is to prevent freezing and vandalism. The spray tips on the top spinner along with the Triple Foam Shine wands are blown dry with an intermittent air purge system to prevent freeze up. This air purge system comes on automatically within one minute after the wash is complete unless another wash has been purchased. Image Package The Oasis 8550 sign panels can be designed to match any color scheme or decor. From major oil companies to "Joe's Carwash", Oasis can provide the look you desire. Features and Benefits VEND PROGRAMMING & OPERATIONAL INFORMATION Prior to entering a new vend program into the processor, use a blank vend selection worksheet and vend selection choices sheet to translate what you want the wash to do into terms the processor understands. When writing vends, remember these tips: 1. Never start a vend with a delay. Wash must start with a bridge movement. A first step delay is done at cycle start delay on DAT integer #25 (set to at least 5). 2. The Typhoon is fast, but it is critical to give your presoak time to work. If you have questions on how best to do this, contact your Distributor or Oasis Technical Services. 3. Water supply is not a constant. If you use more water than your system can supply, the wash will fail. 4. For the most part, the Typhoon is designed to run at fast speeds. Slower speeds slow the throughput and increase operating costs. 5. You must always program an even number of passes when programming a wash. If need be, you may do a bridge movement without any product or water delivery, as long as the wash makes an even number of passes. 6. Ensure product is at the wands before they begin to move. As a rule of thumb, low-pressure (presoak, spot-free rinse) functions are delivered in 5 – 7 seconds, while high-pressure functions (high-pressure wax, rocker panel, etc.) take 3 – 4 seconds to reach the wands. 7. Graph the wash out before assigning numbers to steps. 8. Minimize distractions while loading vends onto the processor to reduce error. From Home Menu Screen: 1. Press F1 for Main Menu 2. Press F1 for Vends 3. Press F1 for Clear Vend (last chance to exit) 4. Press F1, then enter the # of the vend to be loaded, 1 through 4 5. Press Enter 6. Screen will read: Step #1 F1 to Enter Selection Number Panel View Vend Programming and Operational Information Remember, once you press F1, the Panel View will not give you a reference to what step you are on until you enter a number. Always use a system to stay in sync with your menu in case of distraction. Press F1, the selection number, and Enter. 7. The Panel View will ask for Inlet Selection
