On behalf of the host society, Chinese Society of Dermatology, I cordially invite all of you to Beijing and to this meeting. EADC is the official congress of Chinese Society of Dermatology (CSD), Japanese Dermatological Association (JDA) and Korean Dermatological Association (KDA). The similar traditional culture and rapid development in eastern Asia characterize this congress both regional and international. We all know that the 1st EADC that was held in Fukuoka Japan in 2010 was very successful. The 2nd EADC will follow the footsteps of 1st EADC, focusing on the international frontiers and hot spots of dermatology, covering both clinical and basic research area. I hope that this congress would be also productive and fruitful. Finally, this meeting will provide a great opportunity for participants to communicate with each other and will strengthen the friendship between participants as well as all dermatologists in this region. Beijing is the capital of China. It is an old city with thousands years’ history. Also it is an advanced, active and friendly city. I hope that all of you will be able to enjoy the scenery, the history and the culture of Beijing during your stay. I hope that the 2nd EADC will be an exciting and memorable experience to all of you. Looking forward to welcoming you in Beijing! Jianzhong Zhang President of Host Society, Chinese Society of Dermatology The 2nd Eastern Asia Dermatology Congress Professor, Department of Dermatology Peking University People's Hospital www.cmacsd.org/eadc2012 www.cmacsd.org/eadc2012 03 2nd Eastern Asia Dermatology Congress 2nd Eastern Asia Dermatology Congress June 13-15, 2012 Beijing, China Welcome Message Dear friends and colleagues, It is my great pleasure and honor to welcome you as the JDA-appointed President of the 2nd Eastern Asia Dermatology Congress (EADC). After a few years’ discussion among CSD, KDA and JDA, the EADC was formally founded by inter- society agreements in 2009. The establishment of EADC has been made possible by close friendship cultivated through a 30 year-history of the Korea-Japan Joint Meeting of Dermatology, and a 20-year history of China-Japan Joint Meeting of Dermatology. Under the leadership of three presidents, Profs. Masutaka Furue (host society, JDA), Xuejun Zhang (CSD), and Ki Hong Kim (KDA), the 1st EADC was successfully held in Fukuoka from September 30th to October 3rd, 2010, with more than 800 participants. The EADC is a unique organization founded on the concept of ‘society-based’ alliance, not of a ‘nation-based’ one. The 1st EADC meeting, therefore, was held under the auspices of the JDA (host society), CSA and KDA, excluding the country or nationality of participants. The scientific program was composed of plenary, concurrent oral and poster presentations after peer-review of all abstracts by the program committee members, and accepted abstracts have been published in the Journal of Dermatology, and Annals of Dermatology. The published abstracts, therefore, are available for citation, and simultaneously require the author’s responsibility. The 2nd EADC will be held in Beijing from June 13th to 15th, 2012 with a deeper inter-society friendship and commitments of CSD (host society), KDA and JDA. As described in the bylaws, the main purposes of the EADC are to increase knowledge of bio- and patho-physiology of the skin, cutaneous disorders, and their treatments, to foster collaboration among dermatologists and scientists in Eastern Asia, and to promote education and dissemination of scientific information by organizing meetings and sponsoring/supporting cooperative studies. To achieve these purposes, the EADC is charged to share our knowledge with all dermatologists in Eastern Asia. I believe that our EADC can accept this challenge. Please join us and enjoy the 2nd EADC in Beijing. Keiji Iwatsuki, M.D. Ph.D The JDA-appointed President of the 2nd EADC Professor and Chairman, Department of Dermatology, Okayama University Graduate School of Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmaceutical Sciences 04 www.cmacsd.org/eadc2012 www.cmacsd.org/eadc2012 2nd Eastern Asia Dermatology Congress 2nd Eastern Asia Dermatology Congress June 13-15, 2012 Beijing, China Welcome Message Dear Friends, Colleagues, and Participants It is my great pleasure to welcome you all to the 2nd Eastern Asia Dermatology Congress(EADC), which will be held from June 13th to June 15th, 2012 in Beijing China. I believe that the 1st EADC held in Japan in 2010 gave a good opportunity to the dermatologists from three countries, China, Japan, and Korea, by providing invaluable social networking as well as a place to exchange the latest advancements in dermatology. With a great success to the 1st EADC, the 2nd EADC will extend this opportunity by a more extensive program including special lectures, symposia, and free paper sessions and make itself more fruitful and productive. In addition, this congress will provide you with an excellent opportunity to gain better insight into recent researches. I expect that EADC can be one of the most regional and international professional meetings in the near future. I sincerely hope you will take opportunity to share, enjoy and enrich yourself as a leading professional through this meeting I look forward to seeing you at the Beijing Meeting soon. Sincerely yours, Hyung Ok Kim, MD, PhD.
