If you have questions, contact NRCHA at 940.488.1500 or email [email protected]. 2019 NHSFR Reined Cow Horse Clinicians Corey Cushing, National Reined Cow Horse Association Two Million Dollar Rider and current President, began his show horse career in the reining horse industry, claiming the 1999 NRHA Intermediate Open Futurity. During his 17 years of training cow horses, Corey has claimed every major event title including the 2007 NRCHA Stallion Stakes Open, 2009 NRCHA Derby Open, 2012 and 2014 NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity Open and 2015 NRCHA World’s Greatest Horseman. At age 32, Corey became the association’s youngest Million Dollar Rider, crossing the prestigious seven-figure milestone at the 2012 NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity. Corey’s most recent accolades include winning his third NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity Open championship in 2018, where he crossed the two million dollar mark, and claiming his second World’s Greatest Horseman title in February 2019. Corey, his wife, Kristen, and their three children, reside in Scottsdale, Arizona, where together they own a successful, family-driven training program. Cushing Performance Horses operates out of the elite DT Horses facility alongside fellow friend and colleague Kelby Phillips. Top NRCHA professional Kelby Phillips was born and raised into the ranching lifestyle in West Texas. After graduating high school Kelby began his cow horse career working for NRCHA Hall of Rider Ken Wold, where he found his forte of training and showing reined cow horses. Kelby went onto work for noted rancher Terry Forst and NRCHA Million Dollar Rider Zane Davis. In 2012, Kelby and his wife, Abbie, launched Kelby Phillips Performance Horses, and became the resident trainer at Gardiner Quarter Horses. Throughout his cow horse career, Kelby has claimed numerous championship titles, including the famed NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity Open in 2016. In 2018, Kelby claimed two more major event titles at the same show - NRCHA World’s Greatest Horseman Champion and NRCHA Cow Horse Classic Derby Champion. Kelby and Abbie now reside in Scottsdale, Arizona. They operate Kelby Phillips Performance Horses out of the industry-leading DT Horses’ facility, where Kelby is the head trainer.
