It was great to have Carlton midfielder Marc Murphy in attendance where he presented our player of the month awards, answered questions, signed autographs and had photos taken. Thanks to Marc for his patience. As we approach the half way mark of the season I wanted to make all parents aware of a couple of things I intend to do after the school holiday break. We will be having a follow up the coaches and team mangers meeting to ensure that the 2011 season is on track before finals commence for the older age groups and discuss with these very important volunteers ways we can look to improve the club both on and off the field in 2012 As I had mentioned to some parents during the season I will be organizing a forum to discuss team selection process to see how the club can improve this area for the 2012 season. Team selection is one of the most debated topics amongst the parent group in our club and many others across the entire league. The club remains committed to grading from U13 in every age group where we have more than 1 team. Whilst this is in place the club should always be looking to improve our process for all other age groups from Under 9 through to under 12’s inclusive. I will let people know dates and the agenda for discussion after the term break, but this is an opportunity for you to discuss ideas and process with the committee. The success of this is up to you.
