Kimley-Horn is providing civil engineering and landscape architecture services for this redevelopment located at Channelside Drive along the Garrison Channel. Channelside Bay Plaza is being reinvented as a locally-inspired destination on the downtown Tampa waterfront featuring a one-acre recreation lawn; restaurants; and retail, office, and entertainment space. The property has been renamed Sparkman Wharf in honor of Stephen Sparkman, Tampa Bay’s first congressman, who defined the City by securing funding to dredge a channel for Tampa’s port. The overall goal of the redevelopment is to draw people in at all times of the day - every day of the week. The 180,000 square feet of loft-style office space will stimulate the property on weekdays. For evening and weekend appeal, the dining garden, biergarten, and recreational lawn overlooking the waterfront will attract downtown visitors and residents. The park programming will include concerts to entertain crowds on the event lawn. Specialty venues will be designed for local chefs to showcase their street-food creations from within repurposed shipping containers decorated by Tampa artists. Griffin Farms Town Center, Lake Mary, FL — Landscape architect. Kimley-Horn was retained to provide civil engineering services for this 34.5-acre mixed-use property. The proposed site will include 136,000 square-feet of retail space, 300 apartments, and 200 townhomes with associated parking. Our professional services include planning, construction plan preparation, permitting, and construction phase services for the retail and multifamily portions of the project. Additionally, Kimley-Horn will prepare construction plans to extend the left turn lane along Lake Mary Boulevard to provide access into the proposed development. Civic Hub and Passive Park, Rockledge, FL — Landscape architect on the Kimley-Horn team selected to provide design services to develop a multi-use passive park for the public to use as a civic hub in the City of Rockledge. This area will be utilized for various arts/crafts shows, a farmers’ market, community rental venue, and a place to create synergy with existing City Hall facilities and proposed development in the area. The primary project elements include vendor spaces, amphitheater, open space for passive uses, supporting sidewalks and hardscape areas, and lighting. Landscape and hardscape features are being designed in a cohesive manner across the site to keep material, landscape options, conceptual special features, site furnishings, and gateway signs consistent throughout the park. The proposed complex will contain 660 residential units in one building on the parcel located at 6608 West Shore Boulevard.
