Office of the Academic Registrar GENERAL MINIMUM ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s degree Programmes (i) Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) with at least 5 passes and at least 2 principal passes at Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) obtained at the same sitting or its equivalent OR (ii) Diploma in the relevant field from a recognized institution or the equivalent, OR (iii) Mature Age Entry examinations Certificate accredited by the NCHE with 50% and above. Diploma Programmes (i) Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) with at least 5 passes and at least 1 principal pass at the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) obtained at the same sitting or its equivalent OR (ii) Certificate in the relevant field from a recognized institution OR the equivalent. Ordinary Certificate Programmes Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) with at least 3 passes obtained at the same sitting or the equivalent. Postgraduate Programmes Postgraduate Diploma and Master’s Degree: At least a Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent; Doctoral Programmes: At least a Master’s degree or its equivalent. 1. Submit the filled application form to one of the nearest venues above or bring it directly to the admissions office at Bishop Stuart University on or before 27th July 2019. Please note the University shall be releasing admission letters weekly until the last day of application (27th July, 2019). 2. All admitted applicants shall be required to pay a fees deposit of at least Ush. 100,000 at the time of picking admission letters NB: Pay your application fee only through the bank in favour of Bishop Stuart University (Stanbic Bank Account No. 9030005753057, Post Bank Account No. 1632101000223, Barclays Bank Account No. 6004408576, DFCU Bank account No. 01123500212645). UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMMES SN PROGRAMME CODE SPECIFIC ADMISSIONS SESSION DURATION REQUIREMENTS (Years) FACULTY OF APPLIED SCIENCE 1 Bachelor of Science in BSAERM 2 principal passes at A‘level one of 3 Agricultural Economics and which MUST be in either Economics, Regular/ Resource Management Entrepreneurship, Geography or any Weekend science subject obtained at the same sitting or a relevant Diploma 2 Bachelor of Public Health BPH 2 principal passes at A‘level one of Regular/ 3 which MUST be in either Food & Weekend Nutrition, Agriculture, Biology, Chemistry or Geography or a relevant Diploma 3 Bachelor of Nursing Science BNS 2 principal passes at A‘level in 4 Biology & chemistry obtained at the Regular/ same sitting and at least credit 6 in Weekend Chemistry & Biology at O’ level obtained at the same sitting or a Diploma in Nursing Science 4 Bachelor of Nursing Science BNC At least a Diploma either Nursing Regular/ 3 Completion Science, Midwifery, Mental health Weekend with at least 1 year of work experience. 5 Bachelor of Animal Health and BAHP 2 principal passes at A‘level one of Regular/ 3 Production which MUST be in either Agriculture, Weekend Biology, or a relevant Diploma. 6 Bachelor of Computer Science BCS 2 principal passes at A‘level one of Regular/ 3 which MUST be in either Weekend Mathematics, Physics or C6 in Sub Math obtained at the same sitting or a relevant Diploma. 7 Bachelor of Agribusiness BAMD 2 principal passes at A‘level one of Regular/ 3 Management and Community which MUST be in either Weekend Development Agriculture, Mathematics, Economics, Geography or Entrepreneurship obtained at the same sitting or a relevant Diploma 8 Bachelor of Sports Science BSS Any 2 principal passes at A‘level Regular/ 3 obtained at the same sitting or a Weekend relevant Diploma 9 Bachelor of Information BIT Any 2 principal passes at A‘level Regular/ 3 Technology obtained at the same sitting, and at Weekend least pass 8 in Mathematics at O’ level or a relevant Diploma 10 Bachelor of Agriculture and BACD 2 principal passes at A‘level one of Regular/ 3 Community Development which MUST be a science subject Weekend obtained at the same sitting or a relevant Diploma. 11 Diploma in Computer Science DCS 1 principal pass at A‘level in either 2 Mathematics, Physics or C6 in Sub Regular/ computer and 2 subsidiaries obtained Weekend at the same sitting or a relevant Certificate. 12 Diploma in Midwifery Extension DME Registered enrolled Comprehensive Regular/ 1 & ½ (July Intake) Nurse or Midwife with 2+ years of Weekend work experience. 13 Diploma in Nursing Science DNS 1 principal pass at A‘level in Biology Regular/ 2 and 2 subsidiaries obtained at the Weekend same sitting and at least Pass 8 at O’ level in Biology and Chemistry. 14 Diploma in Nursing Extension DNE Registered with a certificate in either, Regular/ 1 & ½ (July Intake) Nurse, Mental health and 2+ years of Weekend work experience. 15 Diploma in Public Health DPH 1 principal pass at A‘level in either Regular/ 2 Food & Nutrition, Agriculture, Weekend Biology, Chemistry or Geography and 2 subsidiaries obtained at the same sitting or a relevant Certificate. 16 Diploma in Agribusiness DAMD 1 principal pass at A‘level in either Regular/ 2 Management and Community Economic, Geography, Weekend Development Entrepreneurship or any science subject or 2 subsidiaries obtained at the same sitting or a relevant Certificate. 17 Diploma in Animal Health And DAHP 1 principal pass at A‘level in any Regular/ 2 Production science subject and 2 subsidiaries Weekend obtained at the same sitting or a relevant Certificate. 18 Diploma in Information DIT Any 1 principal pass at A‘level and 2 Regular/ 2 Technology subsidiaries obtained at the same Weekend sitting and at least credit 6 in Mathematics at O’ level or a relevant Certificate. FACULTY OF LAW 19 Bachelor of Laws LLB Any 2 principal passes at A‘level Regular 4 obtained at the same sitting and at least credit 6 in English at O’ level or a Diploma in Law. NB: Applicants shall be required to sit for Pre- Entry interviews which will he held on 18th July 2019 at the University’s Faculty of Law. 20 Bachelor of Arts in Ethics and BEHR Any 2 principal passes at A‘level Regular/ 3 Human Rights obtained at the same sitting or a Weekend relevant Diploma. 21 Diploma in Law DIL Any 1 principal pass at A‘level and 2 Regular/ 2 subsidiaries obtained at the same Weekend sitting and at least credit 6 in English at O’ level or a relevant Certificate 22 Diploma in Ethics and Human DEHR Any 1 principal pass at A‘level and 2 Regular/ 2 Rights subsidiaries obtained at the same Weekend sitting or a relevant Certificate. FACULTY OF EDUCATION 23 Advanced Certificate in ACAST 2 subsidiary passes at A’ level one of Regular 1 Appropriate and Sustainable which must be in either Mathematics Technologies or Physics. 24 Bachelor of Arts in Theology BAT Any 2 principal passes at A‘level Regular 3 obtained at the same sitting or a relevant Diploma. 25 Bachelor of Arts With Education BAED 2 principal passes at A‘level in Arts Regular 3 teaching subjects obtained at the same sitting. 26 Bachelor of Arts With Education BAED 2 principal passes at A‘level of which Regular 3 (Fine Art Double Main) F/A one MUST be in Fine Art obtained at the same sitting. 27 Bachelor of Education – BED Registered teacher (Grade v) with a Recess 2 (Primary) Diploma in Education Primary. 28 Bachelor of Education – BED Registered teacher (Grade v) with a Recess 2 (Secondary) Diploma in Education Secondary. 29 Bachelor of Arts in Performing BAPLA Any 2 principal passes at A‘level Regular 3 and Leisure Arts obtained at the same sitting or a relevant Diploma 30 Bachelor of Science and BSTE 2 principal passes at A‘level one of Regular 3 Technology Education which MUST be in either Mathematics or Physics obtained at the same sitting or a relevant diploma. 31 Bachelor of Commercial BCIFAD 2 principal passes at A‘level of which Regular 3 Industrial Fine Art and Design one MUST be in Fine Art obtained at the same sitting or a relevant diploma. 32 Bachelor of Science With BSCED 2 principal passes at A‘level in either Regular 3 Education Entrepreneurship, Economics, Geography or any Science teaching subjects obtained at the same sitting. 33 Diploma in Primary Education DIPE Registered teacher (Grade iii) with a Recess 2 Grade 3 Teacher’s Certificate. 34 Diploma in Industrial Fine Art DIFAD Any 1 principal pass at A‘level and 2 2 Design subsidiaries obtained at the same Regular sitting and at least credit 6 in Fine Art at O’ level or a relevant Certificate. 36 Diploma in Science and DSTE 1 principal pass at A‘level in either 2 Technology Education Mathematics or Physics and 2 Regular subsidiaries obtained at the same sitting or a relevant Certificate. 37 Diploma in Early Childhood DECE At least a Certificate in Early Regular/ 2 Education Childhood Education Recess FACULTY OF BUSINESS AND DEVELOPMENT STUDIES 38 Bachelor of Arts in Development BADE 2 principal passes at A‘level one of Regular/ 3 Economics which MUST be in either Economics Weekend or Entrepreneurship or any science subject obtained at the same sitting or a relevant Diploma. 39 Bachelor of Arts in Journalism BAJMC Any 2 principal passes at A‘level Regular/ 3 and Mass Communication -NEW obtained at the same sitting and at Weekend least credit 6 in English at O’level or a relevant Diploma 40 Bachelor of Business BBA Any 2 principal passes at A‘level Regular/ 3 Administration obtained at the same sitting and at Weekend least pass 8 in Mathematics at O’level or a relevant Diploma.
