He devoted his life to serving, both his fellow man and his Creator. In recognition of his commitment to bettering the quality of life and to preserving sacred traditions, he was designated an "Archon" by the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constan­ tinople and inducted into the Order of St. Andrew, the Apostle with the title or "offikion" of Archon Depoutatos meaning "Patriarchal Summoner".
