UFC on Fox 17: Cerrone vs dos Anjos Preview Author : Robert D. Cobb UFC on Fox 17: Rafeal dos Anjos vs Donald Cerrone ”2” is set for this Saturday night, live from the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida. This card is PPV worthy and will be given away on FREE TV courtesy of Fox. Lets break down the top 5 fights that make this card stacked! Lightweight Champion Rafael dos Anjos vs Donald Cerrone The champ comes in riding a four-fight win steak and has also won 9 of his last 10 in the octagon. These two collided in August of 2013 with dos Anjos wining via decision. Cerrone is red hot and has won his last 8 in a row, against the likes of former champ Benson Henderson and top contenders Miles Jury and Jim Miller. At the end of the night, I see this one going the same way as the first one did with the champion dos Anjos defending successfully by way of points. Cerrone doesn’t have the knockout power to put dos Anjos away, and if it goes to the ground the advantage goes the way of the champ. Junior dos Santos vs Alistair Overeem Junior Dos Santos is better than Overeem in every facet and will show why with a 3 round domination Saturday night. Overeem has been ducking Junior for a long time, pulling out of several fights. Junior Dos Santos takes out a lot of frustration Saturday night with the win! Michael Johnson vs Nate Diaz The former Ultimate Fighter winner Johnson is on a roll and eager to stay in the spotlight. Diaz is fresh off a long layoff and hasn’t won in over two years. Diaz has looked uninspired and solely concerned about money for a very long time. Unless Diaz finds some of his old magic soon, this one will go to Johnson via ref stoppage in the second. Charles Oliveira vs Miles Jury Jury won 15 straight and was the next big thing of the lightweight division, that was until he ran into Donald Cerrone who absolutely dominated Jury almost a year ago at UFC 182 in January. He hasn’t fought since, but look for him to get back on track with a dominant first round knockout of Oliveira. C.B. Dollaway vs Nate Marquardt 1 / 2 These men were both once serious title contenders. Marquardt even challenged Anderson Silva at one point for the Middleweight title. Both men, sadly, have blown every chance they have had to stay in the main event talk. The winner of this one will be able to stick around a little longer, the loser, may have competed in the UFC for the final time. The smart money is on Marquardt by knockout in the third.
