Daniel M.Phil Scholar, Dept. of Library & Information Science, Bishop Heber College, Trichy-17 Abstract Specialized search engines are one more tool to include in your search engine optimization arsenal. Unlike general-purpose search engines, specialized search engines index pages for particular topics only and very often there are many pages that cannot be found in general-purpose search engines but only in specialized ones. Some of the specialized search engines are huge sites that actually host the resources they link to, or used to be search directories but have evolved to include links not only to sites that were submitted to them. There are many specialized search engines for every imaginable topic and it is always wise to be aware of the specialized search engines for your niche. This paper describing the beneficiary of specialized search engines to access specialized information in the digital environment also it indicating a list of specialized search engines. Specialized engines can be worthwhile tools to share with less sophisticated searchers or those who do not have the time to learn to use advanced searching options. In some cases, the content updates more frequently than general engines. Specialized engines often provide access to content not crawled by general search engines. No search engine is completely using specialized tools helps reinforce the need to use more than a single search engine. CONCLUSION Domain-specific search, part of a larger sub-grouping known as "specialized" search, is a relatively new tier in the Internet search, industry consisting of search engines that focus on specific slices of content. The type of content in special focus may be based on topicality or information type. For example, a medical search engine would clearly be specialized in terms of its topical focus, whereas a video search engine would seek out results within content that is in a video format.
