As the weather is changing on a daily basis, we all are getting the bug to get our ride on. Whether you’re new to WSH or have been around for years, the Trails and Pleasure Division has something to offer eve- ryone. You get credit for the time (hours) you spend in the saddle, cart or even on the ground. Please feel free to email me for the forms and sign-up sheet @ [email protected] or you may sign-up using the form provided below. I would like to thank those of you who supported the Trails and Pleasure Division for the past years and I’m thrilled to welcome those of you who have joined us for 2016. Yep, folks were growing….so I encourage you all to spread the word and join the fun. If you haven’t already joined, the time to start is now. Now the that the new WSH website is up and running, I have had a little time to update the Trails and Pleasure Division page so if you have events and pictures, please email them to me with at least one-week’s notice (for the events) so that I can get them posted on the WSH website and the Trails and Pleasure Face book page. Speaking of rides...Equine Trail Sports / Three Mtns Ranch is hosting an obstacle course trail challenge on June 11-12 at Mount Spokane State Park. Each day, the event will consist of seven miles of trails with obstacles and challenges. Riders choose their own challenge level that best suits them and their horse at each obstacle. Obstacles are not timed. Events are open to all breeds of horses, donkeys, and mules. There will be tournaments for added fun. The cost is $54 and event registration is half price for all students. For more information contact the hosts at 509.370.8231 or via e-mail at [email protected]. If you have information on additional rides, please don’t hesitate to send the information to me at [email protected] so that I may share the information with the rest of our members. DIVISION MESSAGE: The first shows of the year are just around the corner; prize lists can be found on the WSH website (www.WashingtonStateHorsemen.org) for your convenience. The new WSH yearend award forms can also be found on the website. If you have any questions or need a permanent number prior to the show, please feel free to email me at [email protected]. Getting signed up prior to the morning of a horse show will help take the stress off of your first show of the year. Our committees have been busy. The rulebook had a major overhaul with countless hours of editing. We were all proud when it went to press and the website. We meet monthly via conference call and are ticking away at the list of things to accom- plish this year. While the Horse Show Division does not produce the Year End Awards (YEA) Show, the proceeds from this show are invaluable. The club donates the funds to help purchase our year end awards and ribbons. This year the show has a change of venue and dates. It will be held in Spanaway at the newly updated Tacoma Unit on August 6-7.
