Previous meetings • It took a Jón Dadi Bödvarsson own goal to give the Czech Republic a 2-1 win against Iceland when the sides met in Plzen last November. • Iceland's record in nine games against the Czech Republic and Czechoslovakia is now W1 D1 L7 (W1 D0 L3 against the Czech Republic alone). • Atli Edvaldsson's Iceland produced a major upset by beating Jozef Chovanec's Czech Republic team 3-1 in their previous competitive home meeting, a FIFA World Cup qualifier on 1 September 2001. Agreed a new contract that will see him hand over the reins to assistant Heimir Hallgrímsson at the end of the UEFA EURO 2016 campaign.
