The known distributon of both species was limited: N. persicus was distributed in the Persian Gulf, Gulf of Oman, and Karachi in Pakistan; N. tadjallii was reported from the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman. We also provide comprehensive taxonomic descriptons of both species, along with additonal morphological and ecological informaton. This species is very Nassarius Duméril, 1805 (Gastropoda: Nassariidae) is similar to N. marmoreus (A. Adams, 1852), N. javanus the most diverse genus within the subfamily Nassariinae (Schepman, 1891), and N. thachorum Dekker et al., and limited to the Indo-West Pacifc (Galindo et al. 2016; 2016. Dekker et al. 2016). Informaton on the members of this genus from the Indian subcontnent, a major ecoregion of the Western Indo-Pacifc, however, is scarce (Nerurkar MATERIALS AND METHODS et al. 2020). In this paper, for the frst tme, we report the occurrence of many living specimens of Nassarius Taxon sampling: Specimens of both species were persicus (Martens, 1874) and Nassarius tadjallii found and handpicked at low tde during the present Moolenbeek, 2007 from the intertdal reef associated study, intertdally, up to 1 m depth, at diferent localites mud-fats of the Gulf of Kachchh, Gujarat, India.
