COPIES MAY BE OBTAINED AT THE BCRD OFFICE OR CAN BE FOUND ONLINE AT www.dizzydeanga.org GAMES: HOME TEAM WILL BE LISTED ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE GAME SCHEDULE AND WILL OCCUPY THE FIRST BASE DUGOUT. VISITING TEAM WILL OCCUPY THE THIRD BASE DUGOUT. THERE WILL BE A TIME LIMIT OF ONE HOUR AND TWENTY MINUTES ON ALL GAMES. TIME WILL BE KEPT BY THE HOME PLATE UMPIRE AND WILL BEGIN WHEN THE FIRST WARM UP PITCH IS THROWN. TIME IS NOT DEBATEABLE. AT THE TIME LIMIT THE INNING IN PROGRESS WILL BE FINISHED. IF THE HOME TEAM IS AT BAT AND AHEAD THE GAME WILL BE STOPPED. IF THE HOME TEAM IS BEHIND AND HAS THE CHANCE TO TIE OR WIN THE GAME THEY WILL RECEIVE THEIR AT BAT A REGULATION GAME IS SIX (6) INNINGS. THE GAME WILL BE CALLED AFTER FIVE INNINGS IF ONE TEAM IS SIX OR MORE RUNS AHEAD. THE GAME WILL BE CALLED AFTER FOUR INNINGS IF ONE TEAM IS AHEAD BY 11 OR MORE RUNS THE INNING WILL BE OVER WHEN THREE OUTS ARE RECORDED OR FIVE RUNS HAVE SCORED. ONLY THE MANAGER AND ONE ASSISTANT COACH WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE DUGOUT AND ON THE FIELD BOTH MUST BE CERTIFIED BY BCRD OFFENSE: ALL PLAYERS PRESENT AT THE GAME WILL BAT IN A CONTINUOUS ORDER THROUGHOUT THE GAME. COACHES PLEASE TURN IN A LINEUP WITH THE PLAYERS NUMBER AND FULL NAME IF A PLAYER SHOWS UP AFTER THE START OF THE GAME ADD THEM TO THE BOTTOM OF THE LINEUP AND NOTIFY THE SCOREKEEPER AND THE OPPOSING TEAM . IF A PLAYER LISTED ON YOUR LINEUP IS ABSENT JUST SKIP THEM AND PROCEED WITH YOUR NORMAL LINEUP. BAT RULES: FOR TEAMS IN THE “SELECT” DIVISION BAT RULES WILL FOLLOW THE GUIDELINES SET FORTH IN THE DIZZY DEAN RULE BOOK. BATTERS MAY USE A 2 ¾” INCH BARREL BAT THAT MEETS STANDARDS FOR TEAMS IN THE “RECREATIONAL” DIVISION BAT RULES WILL FOLLOW THE GUIDELINES SET FORTH IN THE GRPA MANUAL. BATTERS MUST USE A 2 ¼” INCH BARREL BAT THAT MEETS STANDARDS. ALL BATTER MUST WEAR A HELMET WITH A FACEMASK NO EXCEPTIONS BASERUNNERS MAY ADVANCE AS SOON AS THE PITCH CROSSES HOME PLATE THE THIRD STRIKE IS AN OUT EVEN IF THE CATCHER DROPS THE BALL OR IF IT’S A WILD PITCH BALLS AND STRIKES WILL NOT BE ARGUED DO NOT SHOW UP OUR UMPIRES THE PENALTY WILL BE AN AUTOMATIC EJECTION ANY OTHER RULES OF PLAY MAY BE FOUND IN THE DIZZY DEAN RULEBOOK MINOR LEAGUE SECTION OR AT www.dizzydeanga.org. DEFENSE: NINE (9) PLAYERS ON DEFENSE CATCHER MUST BE FULLY EQUIPPED. NO TWO PIECE CATCHER HELMETS PARTICIPATION: ANY COACH WHO WANTS TO SIT A PLAYER OUT OF A GAME FOR DISCIPLINARY OR ATTENDANCE REASONS MUST FILL OUT THE BCRD PARTICIPATION WAIVER FORM AND OBTAIN APPROVAL FROM A FULL TIME BCRD STAFF MEMBER BEFORE SITTING A PLAYER OUT OF A GAME ALL PLAYERS MUST PLAY TWO INNINGS ON DEFENSE. FAILURE TO DO SO WILL RESULT IN FORFEITURE OF THE GAME IF YOU WIN PLUS DISCIPLINARY ACTION TAKEN BY BCRD STAFF. PITCHING RULES: A PITCHER IS LIMITED TO EIGHT (8) INNINGS IN A WEEK AND SIX (6) INNINGS IN ANY GAME OR DAY. IF A PLAYER PITCHES OVER THREE (3) INNINGS IN ANY GAME OR DAY THEY CAN FINISH THE GAME THEY ARE IN BUT ONCE THEY ARE REMOVED FROM THE MOUND THEY MUST HAVE TWO (2) DAYS REST BEFORE THEY MAY PITCH AGAIN. ( EX. JOEY PITCHES 4 INNINGS ON TUESDAY NIGHT, HE MAY NOT PITCH AGAIN UNTIL THURSDAY NIGHT) ONE PITCH WILL BE CONSTITUTED AS ONE INNING THE WEEK STARTS ON MONDAY AND GOES THROUGH SATURDAY FOR INNINGS PITCHED AND TEAM EVENTS THE PENALTY FOR USING AN ILLEGAL PITCHER IS A FORFEIT . ALL PITCHING CHANGES MUST BE REPORTED TO THE SCOREKEEPER OR THE PREVIOUS PITCHER WILL BE CHARGED WITH THOSE INNINGS PITCHED. A COACH IS ALLOWED THREE (3) VISITS TO THE MOUND PER PITCHER PER GAME ; HOWEVER, IF HE MAKES TWO (2) VISITS IN THE SAME INNING HE MUST CHANGE THE PITCHER A PITCHER MAY RETURN TO THE MOUND TO PITCH ONE TIME IF HE HAS NOT ALREADY GONE OVER THREE (3) INNINGS IN THAT GAME OR DAY PLEASE REFER TO THE DIZZY DEAN RULEBOOK FOR ALL PITCHING RULES EVENTS: NO MORE THAN THREE (3) EVENTS IN A WEEK ALL PRACTICES AND SCRIMMAGES MUST BE APPROVED BY BCRD STAFF. IF A COACH OR TEAM VIOLATES THIS POLICY THE PENALTIES ARE AS FOLLOWS: FIRST OFFENSE: ONE GAME SUSPENSION FOR THE MANAGER OR COACH RUNNING THE PRACTICE SECOND OFFENSE: TWO GAME SUSPENSION THIRD OFFENSE: SUSPENSION FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE SEASON COACHES EVEN IF YOU HAVE A PARENT RUN THE PRACTICE YOU WILL BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR TEAM.
