Nikola Tesla (1856-1943)(!] was a world Scientist renowned Serbian inventor, physicist, Name Nikola Testa mechanical engineer, electrical engineer and Photo futurist. He was an important contributor to the use of commercial electricity, and is best known for developing the modern alternating current (AC) electrical power supply system. His many revolutionary developments in the field of electromagnetism in the late 19th and early 20th centuries were based on the theories of electromagnetic technology discovered by Michael Faraday. Testa's patents and theoretical work also formed the basis of wireless communication and the radio. His works are also the basis of the AC motor that allowed him to usher in the Second Industrial Revolution. Born in the village of Smiljan (now part of Gospic, present day Croatia), Tesla was a subject of the Austrian Empire by birth and Approved for Release by NSA on 05-05-2017 FOIA Case #83679 I of 23 2/8/201 6 11:50 AM Doc ID: 6574377 Nikola Testa - lntell ipedia )tb ) (3 ) - P.L. 86- 361 later became an American citizen. However, Tesla died impoverished and forgotten at the age of 86. Tesla's legacy can be seen across modern civilization and wherever electricity is used. Aside from his work on electromagnetism and engineering, Testa is said to have contributed in varying degrees to the fields of robotics, control systems, ballistics, computer science, nuclear physics, and theoretical physics. In his later years, Testa was regarded as a mad scientist and became noted for making bizarre claims about possible 6 7 scientific developments. [ ][ ] Many of his achievements have been used, with .some controversy, to support various pseudosciences, UFO theories, New Age, and occultism. Nevertheless, many contemporary admirers of Tesla have deemed him as the Man w/10 Invented the Twe11tieth Century.
