FAO Staff Coop MAY 2019 In cooperation with THE TAROT GARDEN (GIARDINO DEI TAROCCHI) AND THE DUNA FENIGLIA RESERVE JOIN US ON 1 JUNE Daily visits to the most beautiful gardens of central Italy continue ... this time we will visit the beautiful natural reserve of Duna Feniglia, a stone's throw from Monte Argentario, characterized by a long strip of beach that encloses the Orbetello Lagoon. The vegetation is composed of maritime pines, domestic pines, cork trees, elm, oaks, sea lilies, junipers and shrubs of the Mediterranean maquis. The flora is instead composed of many fallow deers, some wild boars, foxes, badgers, weasels and other rodents; finally, the avifauna counts numerous species that can also be observed from close up through special wooden huts. The afternoon will be dedicated to visiting the famous Tarot Garden, near Capalbio, a large park containing the cyclopean statues of the artist Niki de Saint Phalle. The works, between 12 and 15 meters high, are dedicated to the symbols of the tarot, a world between dream and reality in which the 22 major arcana of the tarot cards are depicted. The garden is a real open-air museum, perfectly inserted in the hilly landscape of the Maremma, a park of exceptional charm, unique in the world, one of the most important examples of environmental art in Italy.
