Shoko Izumi: IPB was the Miniature of Indonesia http://news.ipb.ac.id Posted by admin on 27 November 2012 “I like the atmosphere and the friendliness of the people in Bogor Agricultural University (IPB). I also like the cultural diversity during I am here. IPB deserves to be said as the miniature of Indonesia,” it has been said by Shoko Izumi, the student of Sekolah Keperawatan / School of Nursing of Mie University Japan at the cultural evening (24/10), in the Common Class Room (CCR), Campus of IPB Dramaga, Bogor. This cultural evening was filled with various art attractions from Indonesia, starting from Tari Merak / Peacock Dance, Jaipong, Kuda Lumping, Reog Ponorogo, Tari Perang / War Dance, and so forth. The cultural dances of Indonesia got rave reviews from the participants of the 19th Tri-University International Joint Seminar and Symposium. Other comments came from Kazuya Miyawaki, the student of Agricultural Technology, Ibaraki University, Japan. “IPB has a good cooperation with Ibaraki University. IPB reminds me about Indonesia along with its cultural richness,” he said in the sideline of the event. Indeed, since 2003, IPB routinely participated in the Tri-University International Joint Seminar and Symposium. This event was the event of seminar and international symposium which was initiated by 3 universities i.e. Chiang Mai University (Thailand), Jiangsu University (China), and Mie University (Japan). In 2012, Bogor Agricultural University was trusted to be the host by bringing the theme of Role of Asia in Communities and Sustainable Development, with 5 main topics (energy, environment, food, population, and ecology).
