December Newsletter

Glenn Alexander Guitarist / composer / producer Newsletter - DECEMBER 2018 Whooopppee!!! Suit up folks, winter is here, baby, and we gonna be deep off into it soon. Holy cow – the final month of 2018 is here. Don't know about you, but the year flew by and I can't believe it will soon be 2019. So many things happened, but I try not to look back, rather I look ahead to the new - or, as I like to say, "nude” - year. Lots of music in the hopper for 2019, so it gonna be a goodin. Don't go too crazy with all the holidaze bizness - try and enjoy the moments along the way. And please remember Shadowland t-shirts, CDs and USB drives all make great gifts! Stay warm, stay safe, come out and say hello. I look forward to ringin’ in the nude year with y'all at the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank ….…. SHADOWLAND: I recently did an interview with American Blues Scene, one of the most popular blues music websites on the internet. I was talkin’ about many things - Shadowland, my influences, the blues and just music in general. It was a lot of fun and it was just posted on the ABS website. In addition to the interview, there is a really great review of the Shadowland debut album - please check it out. I also encourage you to click around the ABS website for great articles, reviews and interviews with some of the biggest names in music … We recently had a recording session and we taped Shadowland With Oria and bassist Chris Plunkett at Salt Creek Grille performing a few of the songs live. It was a fun session and we’re working on getting those videos posted on my YouTube channel very soon. Please keep checkin’ my website, Facebook page and Twitter feed for more info on everything ….…. With The Jukes at the Hard Rock Atlantic City THE JUKES: After a single, mid-month show at the Hard Rock in Atlantic City - which is a great place to play, by the way - The Jukes come back with a strong slate of December shows including a short New England run, Steelstacks, The Birchmere, Rams Head, Staten Island, Hartford and, last but certainly not least, New Year’s Eve at the Count Basie in Red Bank. We sure hope to see some of y’all along the way, so if we’re in your area, please c’mon out and say hello ….…. ETC: I have a new release out with my good friend - and saxophonist extraordinaire - Bob Magnuson. Glances After Midnight is an album which didn’t start out as an album, rather just two friends playing music we both love. It turned into something else altogether, so we decided to share with you. Glances After Midnight will be available soon on my website, as well as a digital download, so please be sure to check it out … Oria and I had a great night the wonderful Salt Creek Grille over Thanksgiving weekend. Always a pleasure to play this great room … I also had a wonderful gig last month with fellow faculty members at Sarah Lawrence College for a Music Tuesday event. Be sure to check out the video of my performance on my YouTube channel ….….
