HIGHLIGHTS ● Saparua - With its friendly population, pretty villages, plentiful historical relics, good beaches and fine coral reefs, it was also the most popular island for a quick escape from Ambon. ● Up in Saparua's NE corner, Nolloth is another village well worth visiting. It is dominated by a fine, massive colonial-era church with thick walls. ● Molana - small, hilly, uninhabited island off Saparua's south-western tip is known for its excellent dive-spots and has the finest white sand beach anywhere in the Lease Islands. II. ITINERARY DAY 1 AMBON Upon arrival at Pattimura Airport Ambon, meeting services with driver & guide. Sightseeing th Ambon by visiting the World Peace Gong, the 35 of the world, marking the reconciliation of the civil war on the Moluccas and the monument of Martha Christina Tiahahu located at the hill of Karang Panjang with panorama of Ambon city , the woman fought during the colonial time against the Dutch. Continue long drive the village Hitu and Hila. According to the society story, this mosque had built on the hill, but then removed to this region and Dutch Fort Amsterdam (1637) The Fort Amsterdam is located in Hila, Ambon. Amsterdam fortress built by the Dutch in the early 17th century, when the spice trade began to be implemented in Ambon. This fortress is located not far from the Old Church Hila. Amsterdam is building a fortress built by the Dutch in Ambon, after Kasteel van Verre. The fort was built after Vereenigde Oost Indische Compagnie (VOC) was founded in the Netherlands by Heeren Zeventien. A historian and observer of nature who works for the German nation soldier named George Everhard Rumphius Holland has lived in this castle in the period 1660 - 1670 and wrote a book about the flora and fauna of Ambon. Amsterdam fortress was renovated in 1993. Amsterdam is an old fortress that has been building FOCUS ASIA // WWW.FOCUS.ASIA 2 for hundreds of years and became inseparable from the history of VOC control in Ambon. This fortress is located on the beach is very quiet and beautiful. Lunch (in Warung) will be somewhere in a village on the way with visit Allang, Lilibooi, Hatu and Larike village, it is famous for its sacred eels which are coaxed out of hiding by the locals. Visit elementary school where you could interact with students and teach English for one hours. Return to hotel. (B, L) Overnight in AMBON DAY 3 AMBON - SAPARUA After breakfast in your hotel, check-out. Directly transfer to Tulehu fort. You will cross by local boat to Haria fort on Saparua island and takes around one hour (depending on the wave). Normally the fast boat leaving eta 09.00 – edt 10.00. Arrived in Saparua village to see the Old Dutch fortress Duurstede, the local market (big market on Tuesday and Saturday) and visit the family home of anti-colonial hero Thomas Mattulessy (alias Pattimura), where a small museum exhibits his memorabilia like what are said to have been his clothes, and books written about him. Lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch visit Kulur village where you could see Putri cave and free time at Kulur beach. Return to your hotel. (B, L) Overnight in SAPARUA DAY 4 SAPARUA After breakfast in your hotel, visit Ouw village is the only village that has traditionally produced pottery for local use and colonial buildings. These are sold as far away as the markets of Ambon and continue to visit Nolloth village to see old church and traditional Baileu village hall standing by the roadside. It's the only one on the island constructed without nails. In the afternoon visit Sago producer then swimming at Wahaenahia beach and drive back to your hotel. (B, L) Overnight in SAPARUA DAY 5 SAPARUA – NUSA LAUT – MOLANA - AMBON After breakfast in your hotel, check-out. By local chartered speed boat to Nusa Laut island and the boat will lean on Sila jetty where you could see the dolphin nearby. Continue by walk to visit Fort Buverwijk then to Ameth village via Nalahia village. You will walk around 1,5 hrs via seaside and clove garden with local people smile on you. The speedboat will wait at Ameth jetty where you will have your picnic lunch and snorkel. Continue to Molana beach for snorkeling then to Tulehu harbor when you will end your boat and drive to your hotel. You will be transferred to Tulehu harbor to take fast boat and cross to Seram (fast boat leaving etd 9.00 - eta 11.00am). From the harbour of Amahai continue drive for 2 hours to Saleman village and by small speedboat cross to your hotel. The other side of the island passing tropical forest and open grasslands, valley and some birds where you sleep in wooden bungalows built on stilts in turquoise water. (B, L, D) Overnight in SERAM DAY 7 SERAM After breakfast in your hotel. Today you will explore Salawai river with its dense vegetation by boat. There is a reasonable chance that you will see several kinds of birds and reptiles. See local people processing the inner bark of the sago palm tree into edible flour. Continue along the coast to Sapalewa island. Lunch at island, free time for swimming and snorkeling. In the afternoon return to your cottage. (B, L, D) Overnight in SERAM DAY 8 SERAM After breakfast, free program. (B, L, D) Overnight in SERAM DAY 9 SERAM – AMBON After breakfast, check out and by small speed boat to Saleman village then continue drive to Amahai fort to take local fast boat to Tulehu fort of Ambon around 2 hours crossing (depend on the wave). Arrive in Tulehu fort, transfer direct to your hotel.
