Since 1999 Zamperla has been chosen many times as the exclusive supplier to a range of parks all over the world There is no other company in the world that can list so many parks at which rides have been supplied exclusively. First, in 1999, in Kalkar, Germany, an abandoned nuclear power plant was transformed into a theme park with 40 Zamperla rides. In 2007 we were involved in the renovation of a park close to Milan, Leolandia, where, after the introduction of approximately 20 brand-new Zamperla rides, the new management drove the park’s attendance from 200,000 visitors to more than 800,000. Since then, it was voted the best Italian Park in 2017 on Trip Advisor. As you can imagine, with 26 out of 29 rides being made by Zamperla, we feel that we played a big part in this success. We had a similar situation in 2010 when Zamperla was chosen by the New York City EDC to redevelop the historical Luna Park in Coney Island. Made famous in the past by generations of visitors, successful films and legendary amusement park entertainment, it had become something of a forgotten place. We were delighted to work on the park and bring it back to its former glory. So why is Zamperla the right partner to work with to develop a new amusement park? As previously mentioned, we feel we are in fact a partner of our customers, rather than just a supplier, because, along with the client, we witnessed the park rising from the ground. In conjunction with them we worked hard to ensure everything was ready for the opening date and enjoyed the smiles of the first guests to visit. It was fantastic! Equally as good is seeing the impact that our work has on the surrounding society, from the aforementioned smiles to the hundreds of jobs created. Zamperla Group will launch an exciting new brand during the IAAPA Attractions Expo (IAE) in Orlando this year. Z+ will launch at least one new product into the market every year – beginning immediately! So, at this year’s IAE we will present a new virtual reality (VR) system based on Oculus and applied to Zamperla’s very popular WindstarZ attraction, along with the VR Box, a simulator that looks like being a sure fire success within the market. The Park at OWA – another exclusive! The VR BOX is the first six dimensional, suspended simulator and incorporates VR content – the tech of the moment. It is the result of a frequently asked question by operators of small parks and indoor FECs as to how they can offer customers a ‘big coaster’ experience, when they don’t have the space or budget to do so. Well now they can, with the answer to that question – the VR Box. Within the attraction, eight riders on two rows of four suspended seats enjoy a genuine coaster experience, as the VR Samsung Gear* displays real videos of roller coaster rides shot with 360° cameras. The sensation is empowered by real audio recorded on site and wind machines within the product. But that’s not all! VR BOX offers many other possibilities too, such as 360° journeys around real cities or CGI animation with endless applications. All the operator needs to do is decide what experience best fits their venue. So with such endless opportunities a huge choice is available, both for parks and FECs, as well as venues such as museums.
