This year's VBS will be at Shalom Mennonite Church on June 21 - 24, 2017. Children ages 4 through those just finishing 5th grade are invited to participate. Your help makes it possible for us to continue to provide an affordable preschool experience to families who need it most. David M, professor of history, University of York (United Kingdom), will present “The Amerikan Steppe: Influences from Russia and Ukraine on the Great Plains, 1870s-1930s,” as a “prequel” to the film America: Promised Land that includes the story of Mennonite immigrants to Kansas, scheduled to air on History (cable channel) May 29-30, 2017. Today (05/28/17) is also the final day of the special exhibit “Memory Matters: Works” by Gesine J. MENNONITE HISTORY … On Monday and Tuesday, May 29 and 30, at 8:00 pm , the History Channel will broadcast a two-part special on "America: The Promised Land," and on Tuesday a segment of the program will focus on Bernhard Warkentin, Turkey Red Wheat, and the 1870s Mennonite immigration to Kansas.
