OXFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (EAST CHALLOW and WEST CHALLOW PARISHES) (SPEED LIMITS) ORDER 20** The Oxfordshire County Council, in exercise of its powers under Sections 82, 83 and 84 and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the chief officer of police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to that Act, hereby make the following Order. 1. This Order may be cited as the Oxfordshire County Council (East and West Challow Parishes) (Speed Limits) Order 20** and shall come into force on the ……….. day of ………. 20**. 2. The roads specified in Schedule 1 to this Order shall be restricted roads for the purposes of Section 81 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. 3. No person shall drive any vehicle at a speed in excess of 30 miles per hour in any of the lengths of road specified in Schedule 1 to this order. 4. No person shall drive any vehicle at a speed in excess of 40 miles per hour in any of the lengths of road specified in Schedule 2 to this order. 4. No speed limit imposed by this Order applies to a vehicle falling within Regulation 3(4) of the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011, being a vehicle used for naval, military or air force purposes, when used in accordance with regulation 3(5) of those regulations. 5. The Oxfordshire County Council (Restricted Roads) (East Challow Parish) Order 2000, and the Oxfordshire County Council (Restricted Roads) (West Challow Parish) Order 2000 are hereby revoked. GIVEN UNDER the Common Seal of the Oxfordshire County Council this ………. day of ………. 20**. SCHEDULE 1 East Challow The whole length of every road in the village of East Challow extending (in the case of the respective roads leading out of the said village) to the following points: a) A417 Challow Road to a point 143 metres west of its junction (northern point) with Woodhill Lane b) A417 Challow Road to the Wantage Parish boundary, a point (eastern point) 175 metres west of its junction with Lydsee Gate, Wantage c) Vicarage Hill to its junction with B4507 Ickleton Road d) Childrey Way to its junction with Cornhill Lane (meets Parish boundary) 1 West Challow The whole length of every road in the village of West Challow extending (in the case of the respective roads leading out of the said village) to the following points: a) Silver Lane a point 250 metres north of its junction with Orchard Gardens. b) The unnamed road to the a point 262 metres south-east of its junction B4507 with Orchard Gardens. SCHEDULE 2 a) A417 Wantage – East from a point 47 metres south-east of its junction Challow road with Letcombe Hill east wards for a distance of 452 metres.
