Wellington Airport to Wharekauhau Destination: Call us on: Travelling Time: Western Lake Road, P: (06) 307 7581 Allow 1.5 hours Featherston Leave the Airport Terminal via exit at roundabout take first exit onto Stewart Duff Drive At next roundabout take first exit onCalabar Road At next roundabout take first exit ontoCobham Drive Drive through 1 roundabout. Continue on Wellington Road Turn Right at Ruahine Street and follow this through Mt. Victoria Tunnel. Follow the road around the basin reserve taking the second major exit marked State Highway 1 This road leads you out of Wellington down SH1 on the motorway. At the split between SH1 and SH2 take state highway 2 towards Upper Hutt Leave Wellington, follow State Highway 2 through the Hutt Valley, over Rimutaka Hill Road to Featherston. Do not drive through Featherston, once you reach the 70km speed sign you need to take the first hardRight into Western Lake Road. Signpost will also say “Ocean Beach”. Please note — Featherston is the last petrol stop! {If you reach the 50km sign then you have gone too far}. 40km — follow along Western Lake Road. Please note that there is a portion of the road that is gravel. Stay on the road until you can see panoramic views of the bay. You will travel down a steep grade and over a bridge — you are nearly there! Just over the bridge there is a large wooden sign on the right hand side — “Wharekauhau ”. Just past that you will see a signpost — turn Right and proceed up the driveway. You will find us at the front door awaiting your arrival. Remember to keep left!
