University of Oklahoma Libraries Western History Collections Charles S. Standley, Jr. Collection Charles S. Standley, Jr. (1907-1996) Papers and photographs, 1937-1988. 4 cubic feet. Charles S. Standley, Jr. was a colonel of the U.S. Army during World War II with some 10,000 troops under his command for the 368th Infantry regiment. He was also 1st Lieutenant Commanding Officer of Company 802 of the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC). He was in the CCC from 1935-1941 in Colorado and Oklahoma. This collection contains his recollections and documents from his time spent in the South Pacific, CCC, Taiwan, and World War II. It also contains photographs taken during his service in World War II, during his time spent in the CCC, and of his family. Box 1: Folder 1. Charles S.
