Head Coach: Erin O’Neil (Eighth Season) Assistant Coach: Katy Heher (First Season) 2 Spring Outlook Following a strong fall season in which the Kansas women’s golf Sophomore Thanuttra Boonraksasat team won the Marilynn Smith Invitational and tied for second at hits her tee shot at the Marilynn the Chip-N Club Invitational in Lincoln, Neb., the Jayhawks started Smith Invitational last season. their spring season strong with a second place finish at the Claud Jacobs Challenge in Victoria, Texas and took fifth at the Louisville Cards Challenge in Weston, Florida. Redshirt freshman Thanuttra Boonraksasat led the Jayhawks in stroke average last season finishing with a 75.75, while senior Katy Nugent followed close behind with a 76.03. KU will rely on the duo this season who both had great starts to their Jayhawk careers. Nugent recorded her lowest round of the season at the Marilynn Smith Invitational shooting a 69 in the second round and finishing second overall. Boonraksasat shot a career-best 70 at Price’s “Give ‘Em Five” in Las Cruces, N.M. to finish the tournament in 34th place. Another strong player for the Jayhawks is sophomore Meghan Potee. Potee recorded the lowest round by a freshman in school history shooting a 69 in the second round at Price’s “Give ‘Em Five” Intercollegiate. Potee was also the top finisher at the Baylor Spring Invitational with her three-round scores of 75-76-77 -- 228 and finishing 15th. The Jayhawks will start their fall season out in Tulsa, Okla. at the Dale McNamara Invitational Sept. 12-14. After a week break, KU will head to Manhattan where the Marilynn Smith Invitational will take place Sept. 26-27. Kansas will then journey over to Columbia, Mo. for the Johnie Imes Tournament Oct. 3-4 where they finished eighth place last season. After almost two weeks of rest, the Jayhawks will travel to Norman, Okla. for the Suzie Maxwell Invitational Oct. 16-18 and will then finish out their fall season in Charleston, S.C. at the Edwin Watts/Palmetto Intercollegiate Oct. 23-24. The spring season will be filled with warm weather for the Jayhawks as they travel to Florida three times and Arizona twice. KU will compete in a couple of different tournaments such as the UCF Challenge Feb. 12-14, Rio Verde Collegiate Invitational Mar. 9-11 and the Knights and Pirates Invitational Apr. 9-10. Head coach Erin O’Neil thinks facing different competition will be good for the Jayhawks. “Quote” The regular season will conclude in familiar territory for KU as they will host the Big 12 Conference Championship at Lawrence Country Club Apr. 27-29. The last time KU hosted the Big 12 Championship was in 1997 at Alvamar Golf Club with the Jayhawks finishing seventh. Senior Katy Nugent chips up to the green at the Marilynn Smith Invitational on her way to a second place finish with a 54-total 220. 3 On The Road With The Jayhawks On The Road With The Jayhawks Golfer Bios Thanuttra Boonraksasat RS-Sophomore | Bangkok, Thailand | BFS School As a Freshman (2010-2011) Named Academic All-Big 12 Second team … Competed in the Kansas lineup in all 11 events ...
