BRIEF SUMMARY Nafri Stone Quarry No.2 lease extends over an area of 4.97acres or 2.01Ha. and located in village Nafri, Tahasil- Bangriposi in Mayurbhanj district of Odisha. The revenue department, Govt. of Odisha has settled the sairat source case no. 16/2015-16 in favour of Sri Shyamsundar Bhattar At-Word No-4 Lalbazar , P.O- Baripada in the district of Mayurbhanj for 5 (five) years from 01.04.2015 to 31.03.2020. The lease area is bounded by Latitude: 22° 07’ 25’’ to 22° 07’ 34” North & Longitude: 86° 34’ 28” to 86° 34’ 32’’ East. It is a part of the area covered in the Survey of India Toposheet No.73-J/12. The Nafri Stone Quarry No.2 is well connected to Baripada- Bisoi State Highway at Bangriposi. The nearest railway station is at Bangriposi which is situated at 15 km from the lease area.There is no existence of Public road and railway line within the Lease area. However, the area is approachable from Bangriposi which is located at a distance of 15km. All type of infrastructure facilities such as water, electricity, medical, education etc. are available at Bangriposi. There are lower and middle Primary Schools are available in the village Nafri. There is neither seasonal nor perennial nala within the lease area. Drainage system in the region is dendritic. Surface runoff water in the region will be discharged to the natural drainage course. In accordance with the provisions of the OMMC (amendment) Rules, 2014, the Sairat Source OMMC letter no: 673 dated- 27.03.2015 was granted in favour of Sri Shyamsundar Bhattar At-Word No-4 Lalbazar, P.O- Baripada in the district of Mayurbhanj. Here the lessee will deposit of E.M.D. Rs. 50,000/- towards submission of approved mining plan and Environment clearance. The lessee has proposed to excavate 3240 cum per annum of stone (Minor Mineral) from Nafri Stone Quarry No.2 on payment of Royalty, Dead Rent, Surface Rent and Income Tax as assessed by the state government of Odisha. As per Environmental Impact Assessment Notification dated 14th September, 2006, and subsequent amendments thereof, this project falls under Category “B” of the list of the Project or activities requiring environmental Clearance prior to operation of quarry/mines from the from the State Environmental Impact Assessment Authority, Odisha. An application seeking prior environmental clearance has been made in prescribed Form 1 as per Appendix under EIA Notification, 2006 ,prefeasibility report of the project & Mining plan approved by the authorized agency of the concerned State Government to SEIAA. So, this mining plan is prepared in FORM-ZB under Rule 27-A (3) of the Odisha Minor Mineral Concession (Amendment) Rules, 2014 dated 16.09.2014 by the RQP, Sri Pravata Kumar Sahoo (Regn. No. RQP/BBS/116/2012/A) with detailed planning for the lease period from year 2015-16 to 2019-20. As per the approved mining plan, there is quarry excavation present on the lease area. The lessee has proposed to excavate 7000 cum of Road Metal (Granite stone) from the Nafri Stone Quarry No.2 on plot no 695/2 by means of open cast Semi-mechanised mining method with drilling . Considering the cost of the project, cost towards production, sale value etc, the project is viable and bring some positive benefit directly or indirectly to the nearby locality. .
