The Municipal Council will make a recommendation for one (1) citizen appointment to The Regional Municipality of Niagara. Final appointment will be the decision of the Regional Council. The objectives of the Authority are to establish and undertake, in the area over which it has jurisdiction, a program designed to further the conservation, restoration, development and management of natural resources other than gas, oil, coal and minerals. Please note: The Auditor General, in her September 27, 2018 report to the Ontario Legislative Assembly, recommended that “members of the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority (NPCA) Board of Directors should collectively have the skills, experience and training necessary to oversee the NPCA’s activities effectively” and that the “NPCA’s funding municipalities [should] ensure that their Board appointment process consider skills and experience requirements.” Applications must be completed on the form available on the Town’s website www.forterie.ca under Government and then Boards and Committees, and is also available at Customer Service at Town Hall.
