PP 2015/0085 HOUSE OF KEYS Y Chiare as Feed VOTES AND PROCEEDINGS Reaghyssyn as daaltyn DOUGLAS Tuesday 26th May 2015 at 9.15am PRESENT: Mr Speaker and twelve Members, Mr Bell, Mr Cannan, Mrs Cannell, Mr Crookall, Mr Ronan, Mr Shimmin, Mr Teare, Mr Thomas, and Mr Watterson having leave of absence and there being one vacancy in each of the constituencies of Douglas North and Douglas South. 1. INTRODUCTION OF THE NEW MEMBERS FOR DOUGLAS NORTH AND DOUGLAS SOUTH The new Member for Douglas North, Mr George Ralph Peake, having taken the oaths, was escorted to the Speaker’s desk and introduced by the Hon. Member for Douglas North, Mr Houghton and the Hon. Member for Rushen, Mr Skelly. Mr Peake presented his certificate of election and, after receiving a copy of the Standing Orders of the House and signing the Standing Orders of the House, was escorted to his seat. The new Member for Douglas South, Mr William Mackay Malarkey, having taken the oaths, was escorted to the Speaker’s desk and introduced by the Hon. Member for Onchan, Mr Quirk, and the Hon. Member for Malew and Santon, Mr Cregeen. Mr Malarkey presented his certificate of election and, after receiving a copy of the Standing Orders of the House and signing the Standing Orders of the House, was escorted to his seat. Sitting suspended until 10am. Sitting resumed. PRESENT: Mr Speaker and fourteen Members, Mr Bell, Mr Cannan, Mrs Cannell, Mr Crookall, Mr Ronan, Mr Shimmin, Mr Teare, Mr Thomas, and Mr Watterson having leave of absence. 2. QUESTIONS FOR ORAL ANSWER Oral Questions 1 to 5 and 7 answered. Oral Question 6 not asked. 3. QUESTIONS FOR WRITTEN ANSWER Questions 1 to 4 answered in writing. 4. BILLS FOR FIRST READING 4.1 Audit (Amendment) Bill Mr Teare Bill read the first time. 4.2 War Memorials Bill Mr Watterson Bill read the first time. 5. BILL FOR THIRD READING Public Health (Tobacco) (Amendment) Bill 2015 Motion made – That the Bill be read a third time. Mr Quayle House divided. Motion carried.
