In his last month of College of Business high school, just after turning eighteen, Strauss is behind College of Communications the wheel of his father's Oldsmobile, driving with friends—having “thoughts of mini-golf, another thought College of Education of maybe just going to the beach.” Then out of the blue: College of Fine Arts a collision that results in the death of a bicycling College of Humanities & Social Sciences classmate that shadows the rest of his life.
