Racial Justice & Climate Intern The Racial Justice & Climate Internship is a new part-time (4-8 hours/week) internship for a student with an interest in the intersections of Racial Justice and Climate Action, and the work of challenging Environmental Racism. Students will engage in organizing events, creating resources and working with CSCS staff to deepen and expand the Center’s intersectional focus around racial and climate justice. The Racial Justice & Climate Internship is remote, and includes a per-semester stipend for work. This position is for an undergraduate or graduate student on one of the following Mennonite college campuses: Eastern Mennonite University, ​ Goshen College, Bluffton University, Canadian Mennonite University, Conrad Grebel University College, Tabor College, Hesston College, Bethel College, or Fresno Pacific University. We ​ especially encourage students of color to apply. Position Title: Racial Equity & Climate Intern Compensation: $1000 Location: Remote Term Length: Dec. 1 2020 - Apr. 30 2021 Qualifications: Writing and communication skills, knowledge and experience in racial justice work, and a passion for climate issues all required. Ideally a student who has been engaged in activism and/or organizing for racial justice through campus or community-based organizations, and has strong interest in connecting this work to climate and environmental justice. Responsibilities: Organizing - 60% The intern will help students and CSCS staff organize events on Mennonite campuses around the country related to racial justice, climate change and environmental racism beginning with a virtual film screening. Writing/Resource creation- 30% The intern will help create resources to expand the Center’s engagement with racial justice on the CSCS website, and write articles for the CSCS website and other publications. Ideation/Assistance - 10% The intern will help CSCS staff come up with ideas to engage more deeply with racial justice as an organization. .
