Doug Little. But problems regarding the team's purpose and ques- tions regarding its actions may well widen the gap between students and Public ' Safety instead of reducing it. Little, who is also Public Safety's Community Relations officer, explained that the month-old squad, consisting of himself and six other officers, was insti- tuted to ensure safety at events such as parties, where uniformed officers might be undesirable. In addition, PAC's intent is to be "pro-active" in preventing crime rather than reactive to crimes that have already occurred. But problems have arisen.
