The subject property encompasses approximately 39 hectares. The Stage 1 assessment entailed consideration of the proximity of previously registered archaeological sites, the original environmental setting of the property, along with nineteenth and twentieth-century settlement trends. This research has led to the conclusion that there is potential for the presence of pre-contact Indigenous and historical Euro-Canadian archaeological resources. The Stage 1 archaeological assessment has resulted in the identification of approximately 80% of the subject property exhibiting archaeological potential. Therefore, a Stage 2 archaeological assessment is required on all undisturbed lands in accordance with the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport’s 2011 Standards and Guidelines for Consultant Archaeologists.
