I envision helping to enlarge the membership and strengthen its communication- consultation processes and outcomes. Partnering Co- Chairs with one situated in the Global South and the other situated in the Global North are better positioned to expand both the scope and reach of the PCG. We have begun this process already by establishing a list-serve of the participants who attended the Indigenous Roundtable at the World Urban Forum 9 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Our next step is to establish an online presence using social media and then coalesce around an action plan using the Urban Thinkers Campus as a community engagement model. This year, the Temiskaming Native Women’s Support Group (TNWSG) partnered with the City of Temiskaming Shores to co-host an Urban Thinkers Campus to discuss how the New Urban Agenda (NUA) and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) could be addressed from an inter-cultural perspective. I am a member of Matachewan First Nation and have been Executive Director of the Temiskaming Native Women’s Support Group for 25 years. I have initiated multiple broad-based collaborations and established two Urban Indigenous Community Hubs and a Northern Women’s Training Institute. I organized three delegations of young, Indigenous women who attended the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues and mentored them in understanding UN inter-governmental processes and policy advocacy by preparing position papers, statements and declarations. I am not in a position of conflict. I am a member of GROOTS Canada, but I don’t hold a leadership position. I declare I am a member of the Indigenous Partner Group. .
