Erasmus+ NOE Italian Mobility Outline Message to Partners Dear NOE Partners, It is with sincere satisfaction and gratitude that I am writing this message of welcome to the final Erasmus+ “Notes of Europe” mobility in Italy, from 21st to 25th May 2018. We are arriving to Italy, after a wonderful NOE itinerary, traveled along and all over Europe. “Notes of Europe”: nine music schools from nine European Countries (Italy, Czech Republic, Estonia, Lithuania, Germany, Romania, Spain, Turkey and United Kingdom), all gathered around the project idea, that is develop intercultural sensitivity, intercultural understanding, democratic citizenship, through the acquisition of language skills outside the formal education systems, and helped by the special mean of MUSIC. Each mobility has been a milestone in the development of our great Erasmus+ NOE project, thanks to your perfect organization of the Agenda, the huge professionalism of all teachers involved, and rousing enthusiasm of the students. Every action has allowed all the delegations to work passionately, with deep emotional and professional involvement. Besides, has brought students a unique, highly training experience, of great educational impact, lived in a dynamic, creative environment, rich in multicultural and international moods. From 20th to 26th May, the Italian Agenda will be studded with welcoming events, the 1st Erasmus+ Schools of Music Festival - including a EU Contest -, NOE international and traditional art, dance and music performances, Intercultural Workshops, briefing moments. Every event will be settled in the beautiful natural landscapes of Salento, in the theaters of our towns, surrounded by the historical heritage of our land and will be fully opened to our territory, in a great action of spreading of the joyful achievements of our Erasmus Community. Delegations find a “transfer” at Brindisi Airport to go to Gallipoli Hotels. Turkish delegation will be met at Lecce Railway station. NOE Teachers leave for Tuglie by coach. 8,30.00-09.00 TUGLIE, MUNICIPAL TEATHER – WELCOME CERIMONY REGISTRATION – all staff and students are to sign in and out on the NOE Italian Mobility register. All staff and students will receive a lanyard to wear at all times whilst on the school sites. 09.30-10.30 Welcome talk in the Municipal Theater TUGLIE, delivered by: - Prof. Cosimo Preite Headmaster of IISS “Giannelli” and NOE Project Coordinator - Prof.ssa Jenny Van Den Broeck, NOE Project designer - Local Authorities Welcoming performance by students of IISS “E. Giannelli” 11.00-13.00 STRAND VISITS / TOUR OF THE SCHOOL Delegation will visit the three locations of IISS “Giannelli”. Students with families, NOE teachers travel by coach. Parabita Art High School: - the Headschool, , where the headmaster and the management offices are; - Coreutic High School Casarano: Music High School and Art High School Gallipoli: VET High School 13.00-14.00 BUFFET - available for all staff and students in the Giannelli hall Gallipoli 14,00 - on DELEGATION HAVE FREE TIME: - Students with their Italian mates, in families. - Teachers to go sightseeing in Gallipoli. - Dinner free. People can choice among a list of recommended restaurants, as in the list attached on the last page. Gallipoli (Greek: Kallipolis (Καλλίπολις), meaning "Beautiful City"; Apulian: Caḍḍìpuli), according to a legend, was founded in ancient times by Idomeneus of Crete. Pliny the Elder attributes the foundation to the Senones Gauls, while more likely it was a Messapic settlement. Historically, what is known is that Gallipoli was a city of the Greater Greece. Lecce is is a historic city, the Baroque masterpiece of southern Italy. Sometimes described as the 'Florence of the Baroque'. Route: Porta Napoli, Via Giuseppe Palmieri, Piazza Sacra, Seminario, Episcopio, Campanile, Duomo, Piazza Sant’Oronzo, Anfiteatro romano, Basilica di Santa Croce and Castello Carlo V. 12.00 – 12,45 Leaving back to Parabita by coaches. 12,45 – 13,45 LUNCH in Parabita. All teams (students and teacher) have lunch in 4 restaurants in Parabita. 13,45 – 14,00 Coaches leave for Tuglie, Municipal Teather 14,00 – 17,00 NOE Orchestra Sectional Rehearsals 17,00 Students will be fetched by families for their way back home Teachers to go back to the hotel by coach. Dinner free. People can choice among a list of recommended restaurants 21,00 – 22,30 MUSICAL “L’ALBERO DELLA VITA” in The ITALIA Theater Gallipoli 22,30 Families and students are to make their own way back home Teachers walk back to the hotel. Wednesday – 23rd May 2018 8,30 – 9,00 Students will be fetched by coaches from the respective School locations. (Parabita, Casarano, Gallipoli). Gallipoli: teachers will join the group. 09.00-12.00 VISIT TO OTRANTO All delegations to be divided into groups guided by an Italian groupleader. Otranto (Italian pronunciation: [ˈɔːtranto]) Latin: Hydruntum) is a town in the province of Lecce, in a fertile region once famous for its breed of horses. It is located on the east coast of the Salento peninsula. TheStrait of Otranto, to which the city gives its name, connects the Adriatic Sea with the Ionian Sea and separates Italy from Albania. The harbour is small and has little trade. The lighthouse Faro della Palascìa, at approximately 5 kilometres (3 miles) southeast of Otranto, marks the most easterly point of the Italian mainland. Route: Porta Terra, Porta Alfonsina, Torre campanaria, Piazza Basilica, Cattedrale Normanna, Mosaico pavimentale, Reliquie degli 800 martiri, Cripta e Castello Aragonese, Museo diocesano, Basilica di S. Giannelli” 16,45 – 17,00 CONTINGENCY TIME 17,00 – 17,30 Students and staff have this time to change clothes 17,30 NOE CONTEST IN THE MUNICIPAL THEATER – TUGLIE NOE CONTEST awards and NOE Jingle, Hymn and Logo awards will be delivered. At the end, families and students are to make their own way back home. Teachers leave to Gallipoli hotel by coach. Dinner free. People can choice among a list of recommended restaurants nearby. Thursday - 24th May 2018 8,30 – 9,00 Students will be fetched by coaches from the respective School locations. (Parabita, Casarano, Gallipoli). Gallipoli: teachers will join the group. 09.00-9,30 TRIP TO SANTA MARIA DI LEUCA - VILLA “LA MERIDIANA” 9,30 – 10,30 STAFF MEETING, chaired by the Project Students, chaperoned by a teacher from Coordinator, Prof. Cosimo Preite, to each team, are visiting the Villa - make an assessment of the NOE premisis, the stables, Caroli’s pantry, project (each team prepare a lineup of strong and weak points to discuss). - Monitoring modules 10,30 – 12,00 Visit to Santa Maria di Leuca, often spelled simply Leuca (Greek:Λευκά, from Leukos, "white") is famous for its iconic lighthouse. With its height of 47metres, and position at 102 metres above sea level, is the second most important lighthouse in Italy, after Genova. Next to the lighthouse is the large Sanctuary, or Basilica,De Finibus Terrae ("End of the Land", 1720-1755), built to commemorate the passage of St. Peter here during his travel to Italy. It is devoted to Saint Mary (from whom the town gets the name Santa Maria di Leuca). People can choice among a list of recommended restaurants nearby. 19,00 – 19,30 Students and staff have this time to change clothes in ITALIA Theater 20,00 NOE ORCHESTRA IN ITALIA THEATER – GALLIPOLI At the end, families and students are to make their own way back home Teachers walk back to the hotel.
