INFORMATION FOR PARTICIPANTS 1. Meeting venue and registration : The meeting will be held at the Conference Room of EPIRUS lx PALACE HOTEL & CONFERENCE CENTER 7th km National Road Ioannina-Athens (Egnatia Interchange) 45500 Ioannina Greece Phone: +30 26510 93555, Fax: +30 26510 92595, E-Mail: [email protected] , www.epiruspalace.gr Registration will take place from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, 18 November 2010 at the conference room. 2. Accommodation : The Chamber of Ioannina negotiated a special rate for the conference participants with Epirus Palace Hotel (five stars Cat. DeLuxe). A block booking has been made for all participants as follows: Single Room: 69 Euros Double Room: 80 Euros The prices include Intercontinental breakfast, all V.A.T. charges and free use of all the hotel facilities. Participants are kindly requested to confirm their Hotel bookings by filling in the attached Hotel Reservation Form and sending it to the Hotel (fax: +30 26510 92595 or email: [email protected] ) and to the Chamber of Ioannina ([email protected]), and to the 1 Hellenic Chambers Transport Association ( [email protected] ) as soon as possible, but not later than 1 November 2010. Delegates whose accommodation is sponsored by the Chamber of Ioannina do not need to send Hotel Reservation forms. Their Hotel accommodation would be arranged through UNECE. 3. Visas : You are advised to check with the Embassy or consulate of Greece in your country regarding the visa requirements. Participants from countries that visa is required are advised to proceed accordingly as early as possible. 4. Access to Ioannina: Ioannina is accessible by air and road. It is located 450 km northwest of Athens, 290 km southwest of Thessaloniki and 80 km east of the port of Igoumenitsa in the Ionian Sea. Ioannina is the largest city of Epirus, north-western Greece, with a metropolitan population of approximately 100,000. It lies at an elevation of approximately 500 meters above sea level, on the western shore of lake Pamvotis. It is the capital of Ioannina Prefecture and the Periphery of Epirus. Ioannina is well connected with Athens Airport with 3 flights per day. Participants from countries neighboring to Greece may also use the road routes.
