In a vision, He showed her the spiritual director He had in reserve for her. She met St. Francis de Sales while visiting her father, and recognized him as the mysterious director in her vision. He guided her spiritually and in 1610 she went to Annecy where she founded an order for women and girls who felt called to live the life of Christian perfection. The Congregation of the Visitation was established on Trinity Sunday in 1610. Their method of spiritual perfection consisted of always keep- ing one’s will united to the Divine will and to always do what is pleasing to him. There were 86 convents at the time of her death 31 years later.
