In addition to the initial 3,293 ha (part of DoC's RHA) and additional 4,291 ha was flown using deer repellent - this was at the request of landholders. In addition there were some areas on the outskirts of the Rangitoto Range that were excluded from the aerial operation at the request of landholders and were controlled using traps. Cow tested for 1080 - results came back positive. Possible the cow had wandered into bush edge at time of operation and had later been moved into a paddock far from the operational area at some stage after the 1080 drop.
