ACCESSIBILITY ADVISORY COMMITTEE 2015-2016 ANNUAL REPORT INTRODUCTION The Accessibility Advisory Committee (AAC) is comprised of eleven members and 4 reserve members who were appointed to the committee on February 25, 2015. One of its first accomplishments was to approve a workplan for a 3-year period (2015- 2018). During the 2-year period of this report, the AAC met 8 times to develop an awareness and understanding of the issues and concerns affecting citizens living with a disability. Within this time period, AAC presented to the Finance and Economic Development Committee, the Transportation Committee, the Transit Commission and the Community and Protective Services Committee. The AAC also called a Special Meeting regarding Capital Project with respect to Exterior Paths of Travel (rest areas) and On-Street Parking Spaces. The AAC was also interviewed by CTV News, AMI, CBC and the Ottawa Citizen on the topics such as taxi bylaws and AccessAbility Day.
