Byzantine coinage by iconographical type (Types A- I), building, perhaps, on an initial survey of the subject by Shraga Qedar in Copper Coinage of Syria in the Seventh and Eighth Century A. D., Israel Numismatic Journal, volume 10 (1988-89), pp. 27- 39. A great deal of information is also provided in 317 Pottier, Schulze and Schulze, Pseudo-Byzantine 23.10. All of the reverse is retrograde. Coinage in Syria under Arab Rule (638 - c. 670); 23.12-13.
