At the same university she was elected an assistant in 1990. Her Excellency was promoted to assistant professor in 1995, associate professor in 2000, and became a full professor in 2006 as the Head of the Department of Animal Science and Technology of Raw Materials. She has authored or co-authored more than 200 scientific papers published in national and international journals. Her Excellency is a member of the World’s Poultry Science Association. Previously she was Vice Dean for education and scientific research, a member of the Court of Honor of the University, a member of the University of Kragujevac, and a member of the Expert Council of the University for biology and chemistry to chemical engineering and biotechnology. She was a mentor and a member of the commission that evaluated the BSc, MSc and PhD theses. She has participated as a researcher and manager in the implementation of various projects in the country and abroad. Her Excellency graduated from the Faculty of Agronomy in Cacak in 1986 and received her Master’s degree in the Faculty of Agriculture in Zemun in 1990. In 1994, she received her PhD in the same Faculty, becoming one of the youngest PhDs at the University of Kragujevac. 2 Gilles Mettetal Director of Agribusiness, EBRD Mr Mettetal is the Director of Agribusiness at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. The EBRD is an international financing institution owned by 64 countries and 2 intergovernmental organisations. The Bank operates in 34 countries across Central and Eastern Europe, Central Asia and Southern and Eastern Mediterranean. EBRD is the largest provider of financing to the private agribusiness sector in this region. It provides approximately €900 million annually of financing to the sector with a total portfolio of more than €3 billion of investments. The institution counts amongst its agribusiness clients leading international and local companies, operating throughout the food chain from farming to agro processing, food distribution and retail. Mr Mettetal’s previous work experience was with the Investment Centre of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) where he was in charge of the identification and preparation of projects to be financed by major international financing institutions such as the World Bank or the International Fund of Agriculture (IFAD) in Asia, Africa and South America. He also worked for the OECD/Club du Sahel on the Analysis of the Competitiveness of Agriculture in the Sahel and Grain policies in Senegal, Cote d’Ivoire and Mali. Mr Mettetal holds a post graduate degree of L’Ecole Nationale Supérieure Agronomique de Montpellier. He also holds an MSc degree in Biology and Environment. 3 Matteo Patrone Country Director for Serbia, EBRD Mr Patrone has over 20 years of experience in finance and industry. In 2008 he joined the Corporate Equity team of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development where he was supervising equity transactions with a focus on Western Balkans, Poland and Russian Federation. In October 2012 he was appointed Director of the EBRD’s Resident Office in Serbia where the Bank has a portfolio of 2.3 Bn Eur. Prior to his work with the EBRD, he was managing director of the private equity arm of Finanziaria Internazionale, an Italian merchant bank, where he spent 10 years investing in a broad range of sectors. He also previously worked as a senior manager at Accenture Strategic Services in Milan and worked as a project engineer and an export sales manager in ENI and Finmeccanica groups in the UK and Italy. He holds an MBA from Insead and an MS degree cum laude in Mechanical Engineering from Genoa University. 4 Vladimir Rakhmanin Assistant Director-General and Regional Representative, Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia (REU), FAO Mr Rakhmanin, FAO’s new Assistant Director-General and Regional Representative for Europe and Central Asia, took office on 1 January 2014 at the Organization’s Regional Office in Budapest. Mr Rakhmanin, a national of Russia, holds an M.Sc. in International Relations from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations. His diplomatic and professional career has included assignments in Beijing (1982-1983) and Washington D.C. (1983-1986 and 1992-1996). He served in the late 1990s as spokesperson for the Russian Federation’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and as Director of the Information and Press Department. From 2000 to 2002 he was Chief of Protocol for the President of the Russian Federation, and from 2002 to 2006 served as Ambassador of the Russian Federation in Dublin, Ireland. From 2008 until joining FAO, he was Deputy Secretary General of the Energy Charter Secretariat in Brussels. Throughout his career, Mr Rakhmanin has dealt with policy issues involving global and regional developments. 5 Plenary A Jonathan Charles Director of Communications, EBRD Mr Charles is the Director of the Communications department at the EBRD and is a member of the Bank’s Executive Committee. Mr Charles came to the Bank in 2011 after a long and distinguished career at the BBC, winning several awards for his journalism. As a BBC presenter and foreign correspondent, he has appeared on BBC1 and BBC World News. His specialist areas include economics, the EU and international diplomacy; he has a keen interest in issues surrounding the single currency. Having established television operations for the BBC in Brussels and Frankfurt, he is well practiced in recruiting and leading teams of reporters, researchers, producers and technical staff. He holds an MA (Oxon) in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from Oriel College, Oxford University, and is fluent in French and German. 6 Andriy Dykun Deputy Minister, Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, Ukraine As of March 2014, Mr Dykun was appointed as the Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food in Ukraine. He worked as the president of the Association of Dairy Producers (ADP) since it was founded from 2009 – 2014. The main aim of Association is to help farmers to gain best results and standards in milk production and to provide every citizen of Ukraine with natural high quality milk. Nowadays ADP consists of more than 100 dairy farms all over Ukraine. The average annual yield on ADP’s enterprises is higher in 1.5 times than average indexes in Ukrainian. Previously, in 2003, Mr Dykun founded a consulting company “DYKUN” that aided Ukrainian farmers to learn best practices and apply it in the Ukrainian context. Additionally, the company provides exchange programs for farmers from abroad to become acquainted with experience of Ukrainian farmers and leading agricultural enterprises. 7 Danilo Golubović State Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection, Republic of Serbia Since 2012, Mr Golubović has served as the State Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection. During his appointment, he has been responsible as a Head of the Government team for negotiations with the EU on a Stabilisation and Association Agreement (SAA) in the field of agriculture and as the Head of the Government team for negotiations in area of agriculture for Serbia’s accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO). He has also worked as a Beneficiary Project Leader on many EU funded projects implemented in the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management. On the beginning of Negotiations process between Serbia and EU, he was appointed as a Head of the Negotiating Group for Agriculture and Rural Development. Prior to his current role, he also worked at AD “Koprodukt” in Novi Sad, as General Director for the last four years. From 2004 to 2008 he held the position of State Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management. From 2008-2012, he worked at the Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops in Novi Sad as Assistant Director for Commercial Affairs. Mr Golubović graduated with a degree in Economics from the University of Novi Sad in 1989. Mr Golubović speaks English and German. 8 Vedrana Jelušić Kašić Croatia Country Director, EBRD Ms Jelušić Kašić was appointed the EBRD Director for Croatia in June 2013. Coming from EBRD London Headquarters to EBRD office in Zagreb in 2005, she was responsible for the Bank’s agribusiness activities in south-east Europe managing investments in food, drinks, retail and packaging. Ms Vedrana Jelušić Kašić is a member of the Supervisory Board of Croatian Atlantic Grupa as well as of Victoria Grupa and a former member of the Supervisory Board of Tikveš, the leading wine producing company in FYR Macedonia and of VF Komerc, at the time retail chain in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Ms Vedrana Jelušić Kašić joined EBRD in 1998 as the Analyst for Ukraine, Romania, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Belarus and Moldova. Prior business experience was accumulated at Raiffeisen Bank in Zagreb, Merrill Lynch Private Client Group in Boston, the Croatian National Bank and the Central Securities Depository Agency Monte Titoli S.p.A. in Milan. Ms Vedrana Jelušić Kašić holds a Master’s Degree in International Finances from the Brandeis University, Massachusetts, USA, and BA from the University of Economics in Zagreb. In July 2013, she attained the Non-executive Director Diploma by The Financial Times, London, UK.
