Bradford Cathedral to Host Online Seminar About Addressing Racism and Contributing to Change

Date: Thursday 16th July 2020 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE PRESS RELEASE FREE AT LAST? | Bradford Cathedral to host online seminar about addressing racism and contributing to change Professor Udy Archibong and Bishop Tony Parry, who will be giving addresses at July’s ‘Free at Last?’ event. Bradford Cathedral will be hosting a 75-minute seminar on Monday 20th July entitled ‘Free at Last?’, which will look at why it’s now a significant moment to address racism and how we can contribute to change. The seminar, which will be hosted by the Very Revd Jerry Lepine, Dean of Bradford, will feature addresses from Professor Udy Archibong and Bishop Tony Parry. Udy Archibong is the Professor of Diversity at the University of Bradford and Tony Parry is the 1 HOSPITALITY. FAITHFULNESS. WHOLENESS. Both are Ecumenical Canons of Bradford Cathedral and immensely experienced in the field of racial justice in this region and further afield. Bishop Tony Parry: “My brief talk examines the notion from tolerance to liberation as it relates to racism in all its forms, whether that is personal, institutional or systemic. “I will also draw on some research myself, and the Revd Dr David Randolph-Horn, were commissioned to do with the then Diocese of Ripon and Leeds, in terms of a Racial Justice Strategic Review.” ‘Free at Last?’ will take place via Zoom on Monday 20th July at 7pm.
