We invite you to stop in our office or give us a call! We would love the opportunity to meet you and let you know what we offer. We have many classes, activities, programs and leagues for all ages. Welcome to the neighborhood and we look forward to meeting you! Summer Greetings from Shelly Strasser Director of Recreation & Community Services As I sat down to prepare this communication in February, I asked myself “I wonder what summer 2021 will look like?” Will we be swimming at the pools and beaches? Will we be attending concerts and sporting events? Will we be celebrating all the sights and sounds that summer fairs and festivals have to offer us? I was left with a feeling of uncertainty and unable to assuredly predict. I decided to do what I did as a child when I needed some direction and magic answers. I got out the “Magic 8 Ball.” It never seemed to lead me astray as a child (ha ha ha). So we decided to give it a shake for an outlook on summer programming. Me: Will there be a Summer 2021? Magic 8 Ball: It is decidedly so Me: Will our Department offer programs that are focused on safety, personal wellness and fun? Magic 8 Ball: It is certain Me: Will our Department continue to work hard to provide high quality programming to all that want to join? Magic 8 Ball: As I see it, yes Although the “Magic 8 Ball” responses were not based on research, facts or best practices, I think the responses are pretty accurate. It also provides an opportunity for fun, laughter, optimism and a path to better days ahead, which we can all use at this time. That is what your WAWM RCS Department hopes and wants to be for you and your family this summer. As we celebrate the 1 Year Anniversary of your new Recreation and Community Services Center opening, we hope you will take advantage of the programs we are offering and continue to invest in the wellness of yourself and/or your family.
