Malesic Bishop of Cleveland This week, the Church celebrates Pope Saint Gregory VII. He was born in the Italian region of Tuscany around AD 1020 and named Hildebrand by his Most Reverend Anthony M. Pilla, Bishop Emeritus parents (Gregory was the name he took after becoming Pope). Gregory lived during Most Rev. Roger W. Gries, OSB, Aux. Bishop, Retired a dark period the Church’s history.
