
Successful wine lists are a mirror image of a restaurant’s food menu. At City Cellar our wine list is as diverse as our menu, spanning all corners of the globe. Be it a big bold Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, an earthy, spicy, South African Pinotage, or an aromatic floral Torrontes from Argentina, wine is the ultimate partner in a “loving” relationship with the Chef. Wine compliments the food as much as the food compliments the wine, bringing out small nuances of tastes otherwise unnoticed if not for the pairing. When you’re from “here and there” (that’s what Saldo means in Latin), you don’t need to form to one, single place. That’s the funny thing about expectations—they’re made to be broken. Dark ruby color with bold aromas of black licorice, black pepper, cherry, and baking spice. The entry is rich, full, and scintillating. The palate is mouthwatering and smooth with a hint of chocolate. The finish is voluptuous with soft, velvety tannins. Red Blend, Abstract, Orin Swift, California 3oz 13 6oz 23 Expansive aromas of ripe red fruits- raspberries, bing cherries and strawberries, a touch of boysen and huckleberry open the nose. The aromas continue onto the palate with added layers of charred meat, rhubarb, thyme, surrounding a dark fruit core. Smooth, enveloping and lasting, the wine finishes with a pleasing maraschino cherry note. Blend of Grenache, Petite Sirah and Syrah. The palate offers flavors of hazelnut, cloves, and intense berry fruit with brilliant acidity on the finish, providing an intriguing and fiull-flavored experience. Striking aroma of dark chocolate, blackberry jam, toasted oak & hazelnut, with hints of red berry fruit, baking spices, & vanilla. The nose presents the notes of red and black berry fruit which is characteristic of this vintage and capable of giving the wine an excellent concentration. Red Blend, The Investor, Stag’s Leap, Napa Valley 3oz 16 6oz 28 Blends together the unique flavors and expressions of Merlot, Petite Sirah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec, resulting in a powerful, yet approachable assemblage with significant fruit presence. The Merlot contributes fresh red berry aromatics and a soft, velvety texture to balance the power of Petite Sirah which adds concentration, tannins, spice and blueberry flavors. Rioja Riserva, Muga, Rioja, Spain 3oz 12 6oz 21 A blend of Tempranillo, Garnacha, Mazuelo, & Graciano. This wine is ruby-red with glints of brick-red a medium-high depth of color.
