DANIEL WEBSTER COUNCIL BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA UNIT OF HONOR 2020 Form For Packs, Troops & Crews (To be completed by January 31, 2021) Unit Type: Pack / Troop / Crew Unit #: District: Chartered Organization: Town: Unit Leader: Committee Chair: A unit will qualify as a Daniel Webster Council Unit of Honor if they meet six out of eight of the following requirements during the calendar year (and by the specific dates established in each requirement). Recognition as a Unit of Honor will be awarded for the following year. Qualified Item on # Requirement 12/31/20? Journey to Excellence – The unit must establish goals for the year and qualify for the Journey to Excellence Yes/No 1 Award (Silver level is desired, but bronze will accepted) by the end of the year. Friends of Scouting Presentation – The unit must schedule and conduct a presentation prior 2 to September 30th, or participate in the Council's Mobile Cause Effort. Achieve an agreed Yes/No upon goal determined in partnership with the District Key 3. Participate in an Annual Council Product Sale – The unit will set a sales goal (agreed to by your District Key 3) and participate in any of the Council sponsored fundraisers, e.g. Adventure Cards Trail’s End Popcorn or Yes/No 3 any other product sale offered during the scouting year. Participation in "1000 Miles or Bust" fundraiser will also be considered in this requirement. New Family Engagement: In order for Scouting in NH to succeed it requires year-round recruitment by all units. Active promotion of Scouting fun is best exhibited by submitting pictures and stories to your local newspaper. (Each local newspaper may have their own submittal requirements and it is suggested you check with them for what may be required.)We encourage all units to submit at least one picture/ article to your local newspaper showing Scouting fun in NH today per season (not a requirement, but a good practice). All Units: 4 a) Units will turn on Online Youth Registration. Click here for information regarding Online Youth Yes/No Registration. This should be open to all eligible youth per the BSA's vision and in agreement with your Chartering Organization b) Recruit at least one new member through "Bring a Buddy". c) Add a least one new member through conventional advertisement and promotion using local resources New Units: New units will need to show growth from their initial charter registration. *This form must be submitted to the Daniel Webster Council Service Center by January 31, 2021. Summer Camp Experience – Attendance at a High Adventure Base or participation in Granite Base Yes/No 6 Camp (minimum of three scouts) will meet this requirement. Quality Leadership: The primary unit leader and at least 60% of the units registered youth facing 7 volunteers will have completed and maintained the training required for their position and 100% of the Yes/No unit leadership is Youth Protection Trained at the time of re-charter. Re-Charter: The unit will re-charter and submit all paperwork and fees on the designated date set by the Yes/No 8 Council/District. Date Unit Leader Signature Commissioner or DE Signature Unit of Honor recipients will receive free youth rank advancement patches for the 2021 calendar year. The unit Key 3 will receive a free collectible DWC Unit of Honor Council Service Patch. For Troops and Crews, the SPL and President will also receive a free patch. Additional patches for the unit may be purchased at cost.
