CNN's Carol Costello to Deliver Keynote Address at National Student Electronic Media Convention

Costello anchors the 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. (ET) weekday edition of “CNN Newsroom.” She previously contributed to “The Situation Room” and anchored “CNN Daybreak,” the network’s former early morning news program. The Emmy award-winning journalist has interviewed four former U.S. presidents and was part of CNN’s Peabody Award winning coverage of the Gulf Oil Spill, the 2008 presidential election and Hurricane Katrina. Costello also reported for CNN on the 2007 shootings at Virginia Tech, the tsunami disaster in South Asia and the Casey Anthony murder trial. Costello’s speech is one of many highlights at the first-ever National Electronic Media Student Convention October 25-27 at the Sheraton Atlanta Hotel in downtown Atlanta. A number of industry professionals will present sessions, including representatives from CNN radio and television, Georgia Public Broadcasting, Public Broadcasting Atlanta, and reporters and anchors from Atlanta’s ABC, CBS, FOX and NBC affiliates.
