I have just recently become aware of OpenOffice and the endless possibilities one has at disposal because of the UNO model. In order to effectively utilise this, I need to develop in Java, a programming language I know relatively well. As I am used to Netbeans IDE I wanted to use the OpenOffice plugin. However, I have not been able to use this plugin despite having tried everything I could think of. I have a Windows Vista OS and have installed OpenOffice 3.2 along with its SDK and Netbeans 6.0.1. In order to use the plugin I need to set the settings for it which involves setting the OpenOffice.org installation directory and the OpenOffice.org SDK installation directory. I set the following values: OpenOffice directory - C:\Program Files\OpenOffice.org 3 SDK directory - C:\Program Files\OpenOffice.org 3\Basis\sdk However, I always get the error "The selected OpenOffice.org installation directory is not valid!". I have already run the setsdkenv_windows.bat file and have set the values in it as well. However, I continue to get the error. Please note that there was some google result in this matter but that involved people building the Netbeans project, something I am completely uninclined to do as I want get on with developing UNO components and get going! Any help in this matter would be appreciated. I have searched the web for solutions for this but could not find anything. Thanks Regards Ado OpenOffice.org 3.2.0 | Windows Vista (SP1) | Netbeans 6.0.1 adochilles Posts: 2 Joined: Tue May 04, 2010 3:05 pm Top Re: OpenOffice plugin for Netbeans setup (oOo sdk) by QuazzieEvil » Wed May 05, 2010 2:34 pm I believe there are different plug-ins for for the different versions of OOo (and different versions of netbeans of course)--make sure your plug-in corresponds with your OOo SDK. I currently use the plug-in under Netbeans 6.5 and 6.8[I think] which I just installed in another computer. If I remember correctly, the plug-in was not available with netbeans 6.8 plug-in manager--You have to go download it manually from the plug--ins page and install.
