Robert Pattinson to Play Legendary Magnum Photographer Dennis Stock and Dane Dehaan to Play James Dean in Anton Corbijn’S Life

ROBERT PATTINSON TO PLAY LEGENDARY MAGNUM PHOTOGRAPHER DENNIS STOCK AND DANE DEHAAN TO PLAY JAMES DEAN IN ANTON CORBIJN’S LIFE SEE-SAW FILMS AND FIRST GENERATION FILMS TO PRODUCE FILMNATION ENTERTAINMENT TO HANDLE INTERNATIONAL SALES New York, NY – September 6, 2013 – Robert Pattinson (The Twilight Saga, Cosmopolis) and Dane DeHaan (Kill Your Darlings, Lawless, The Place Beyond The Pines) will star as renowned Magnum photographer Dennis Stock and Hollywood legend James Dean in Anton CorbiJn’s (Control) next feature film Life. Inspired by a true story, the film charts the friendship that developed between Magnum photographer Dennis Stock and actor James Dean when Stock was commissioned to photograph the actor for Life magazine in 1955. Stock was 26, old before his time and already tied down to family life. Into his buttoned-down world came fledgling star James Dean, a free spirit who would change popular culture from suits to Jeans and from matinee idols to teenage heartthrobs. The assignment, which took the pair on a road trip around the US, would change Stock’s life and provide the world with some of the most iconic images of the age. Life is being produced by See-Saw Films’ Iain Canning and Emile Sherman with Christina Piovesan of First Generation Films from a script by Luke Davies (Candy). Life reunites See-Saw and FilmNation Entertainment who last collaborated when FilmNation handled international sales on See-Saw’s 2011 multiple Academy Award® winning feature The King’s Speech. FilmNation Entertainment will handle international sales on the film and CEO Glen Basner will introduce the script to international buyers at the 2013 Toronto Film Festival, prior to AFM. Filming will start production in February 2014 on location in Canada. See-Saw Films Iain Canning and Emile Sherman say, “As an internationally celebrated photographer, Anton CorbiJn is the perfect filmmaker to direct Life. Finding the right actor to play James Dean was a big responsibility, but Dane’s body of work has proved what a chameleon he is and what he will contribute to the role. Casting Robert Pattinson and Dane DeHaan brings together two of the most exciting young actors of their generation.” FilmNation’s CEO Glen Basner stated, “We were fortunate to work with Anton on A Most Wanted Man and are thrilled to be a part of his next film. His incredible talent combined with the chemistry between Dane and Robert will bring to life the fascinating story of the fast friendship formed at a very pivotal time in Dean’s life. The proJect also marks our re-teaming with See-Saw Films whose impressive track record continuously keeps them a top-player in international film production.” Robert Pattinson is best known for his portrayal of the vampire Edward Cullen in The Twilight Saga.
