Normally farmers use nitrogenous fertilizers Survey o Source o occasionally Quality r No application of micronutrient o Prices . Farmers go for spray against aphids which cause peach leafcurl Water: Micro or Conventional (with details) . In hilly areas irrigation water is major problem . During May June plants get stressed due to scarcity of water . Mostly farmers opt conventional irrigation and are dependent on rains . Less adoption of micro irrigation/ drip irrigation Credit o Due to unawareness about cultural practices and unavailability of storage houses, cold chain vehicles etc produce fetch very low prices in the market which cause loss to the farmers Cultural practices (Field preparation) o Farmers don't go for standard package ofpractices a Farmers practice hoeing, weeding and other common practices and that too occasionally a Farmers are unaware of right way of pruning O Wrong pruning results in less production a Unawareness of post pruning practices results in Organising damage by diseases Survey INM/IPM practices Production o No INMiIPM practices are in practice Organic manure r Farmers use FYM as organic manure but in limited quantity whichever is available with them and is insuffrcient. Status of technology adopted: Whether standard ICAR package of practices adopted by farmers? . Ifyes, how and when FPO sell the produce o Credit gap Status of Skill Development . Jnsurance gap o Nil o Extension gap Public Private Partnership models (if any) o Nil Others Infrastructure for Quality planting material, irrigation/water, PHM, pack houses, ripening chamber, Cold storage/Controlled atmosphere (CA) Identification of storage, sorting/grading/packaging lines, primary processing centre, Gaps mobile processing centre. r In all the above said facilities area is lacking behind. o There is unavailability of elite planting material which is the base of healthy and productive orchard Infrastructure Gaps o Irrigation water is provided conventionally and mostly dependent on rains. Adoption of drip irrigation is very limited and is not proper o No facility of packhouse, ripening chamber, cold storage/ CA storage . Manual sorting, grading and packing Availability of PHM infrastructure: cold storage, pack houses, ripening chamber, primary processing centre, mobile processing centre etc. Nit I 'a ? e Points: 5 to 10 administrative v t mplementable action points which can be undertaken by the state under a value chain enhancement project o Planting material should be certified by government agencies o Adoption of Micro inigation/ drip irrigation should be promoted o Use of water harvesting tanks should be promoted o Soil of the planting site should be tested before plantation o Proper fertilization with recommended dose of fertilizer should be given o Micronutrients should be given as per need o Pruning should be done according to standard rules and chaubattia paste should be applied on cut surface immediately after pruning o Packaging material like Comrgated Fibre board boxes should be promoted for safe transportation to distant places . Proper storage facility should be provided in Ramgarh area as it has very good potential of peach cultivation along with other temperate fruits likeApple, plum, pear, cherry and apricot which are perishable. o Facility of Cold chain management should be there which maintains the quality and increases the market value of the product -{ -J x= o C.
